University of 'Teachings of life' ..........................

(SHALL WE TRY TO BE A USEFUL MEMBER OF THIS PARTICULAR UNIVERSITY? SHALL WE DONATE SOME MONEY even a drop has some value I am sure we all can contribute a drop from what we earn TO BUILD A ‘CANCER WARD’ FOR ‘TEACHING HOSPITAL, KANDY -
‘www.cancerfundkandy.org’

This particular university comes on top of the list of Universities we own mainly because of the contents of the lessons, the immeasurable lessons and the uniqueness of the ways of teaching’. ‘The abilities of teachers of this particular University not second to any of the top class teachers of our world.. ‘Teachings hospitals’ this is a chain of universities which has few important departments and this particular university teaches everyone A - Z of LESSONS of life.  If you have any ideas to roam around any of the university of this particular chain, better visit the department of ‘birth’ first and proceed towards ‘the department of death’ You will find this particular department at the very corners of each an every university and in between you get all the other departments which teaches all of us who step inside, ‘the realities if life’.  This place is one of the best institutions we have that teach almost all the required and useful lessons for life dealings.  Here you find ‘the head master and the rest of the teachers ‘every moment ACTIVE and sleepless’ they generally teach you things using ‘practical lessons’ they think it is so good to teach you with proof and evidence. That is what I like most about this particular university of teachings. This is a ground full of realities.
I sometimes wonder. We can even ‘pick and choose’ the lessons we want according to the stages of life we belonging to. And apply them the way we think is ‘good’ and ‘practical’ you may find everything you see there is applicable and useful to life. But it is good to learn one lesson at a time I believe.

And I like to remind you another important thing ( to my knowledge) about this particular premises. Everyone who comes to this institution and anyone who goes or stays definitely has to play two important roles apart from all the other roles of their life.
Every particular person will become ‘a teacher and a student’ of this institution.
‘Teaching hospitals’ – I love theses two words not because of anything just because of the things that these two words remind us. What a clever and intelligent naming for such a ‘place of learning and teaching life lessons.  A hospital, actually this is not a place that generally people prefer or please to go. This place is not for ‘enjoyment’ this will not give you any other thing apart from ‘a fruitful package of life lessons’
Imagine the situation at a gate of a hospital and try to meditate on few things, staying at the queue observe the surrounding until the right ‘time’ comes you to enter in to the premises of this particular university or wait patiently until you hear the sound of the ‘bell’ or the guard of the gate commands you to go inside.  ‘Waiting’ shows ‘patience’ some times ‘it is so good to learn these things before you join the members of the teachers or the students of this university.’ I know that sometimes you may have to wait until you get your chance for treatment, to learn the relevant lessons that have specifically designed for your status of life. This is a good lesson I suppose let me take your mind towards the ‘waiting lists’.

To learn good things from an expert is not easy. It is your choice it is you who decided to come to this place I will not say that it is ‘ones fate’ or destiny’ so we have no choice sometimes than waiting after adding our names to the ‘waiting list’.  Then you will have to ‘wait and see’ the out come of the exam faced but this is after you learning things to a certain extent. ‘Teachers can teach things but it is also a responsibility of a student to get the maximum use of the lessons applying them to their life ‘accurately’.  The teachers will guide you and me only up to a certain level of life.
Think of the different people who walk towards the premises of this particular institution in parallel to you, wearing different clothing or outfits, using different wheels, two wheels, four wheels, and three or no wheels. Some wheels come out of this place and some going inside. Imagine the looks of the faces for a moment who comes and goes out of this university of teachings. Do you find ‘giggling faces? Yes why not I can think of the department of ‘birth’ at this very moment. Smiling faces of parents and their relatives, siblings. ‘Wonderful. You find ‘wholesomeness’ here in this particular department on the faces of the parents, or on the faces of newly born children’ And if you just roam around the department of ‘Death’ what do you generally see’ happy Faces? How wonderful if we really can see, only the ‘happy faces’ at this very particular department. You think of the other differences between these two departments of this university.
People come to these institutions from all corners of this country. They come from the North, South, East and from West part of the country but they will not ask you the language you speak rarely they will inquire you some of the general information but that is for your own sake of life.  The teachers sometimes ask you the ‘history of family or the history of your illness not because of anything but because of your own sake of health. They will not care whether you are an engineer or a labourer of currently building bridge adjoining to the ‘Kalladi paalama’.  Once you sit in the driving seat of your car ‘you are a/the driver’ you hold no position there ‘all the leaders or the gangsters, or the teachers who ever sits there your title will be’ the driver’ same will applicable to here once you are entered this place you either become a teacher or a student of this institution.  I tried refrain from using the word ‘patient’ but I have no choice. Even sometimes the head teachers of this University become a patient. ‘Changing roles of life’, these few words come to my mind at this moment.  Every person of this Motherland is entitled to visit this place.
‘Wonderful thing of this place’ is you learn all these ‘FREE OF CHARGE’. Not a cent you will have to pay. You can renew your thoughts ‘free of charge’ you can renew your life ‘free of charge’ you can keep aside all your sorrowing and life hazards at any of the departments you prefer (here sometimes you have no choice than going in to the necessary department [ward] ) and go home with a refreshed mind. How can you do that?
You come here with a damaged ‘lung’ or other organ you can get them repaired here. I don’t know the possibilities of replacing ones heart to another heart? Are there similar possibilities of replacing a heart with duplicate one, dear doctors?
Who are these doctors anyways? Do you have any ideas? They come under very special categories of services can you guess the name of the category?
The GOD and the GODDESSES no doubt they belong to this very important category they will become your savior they will sometimes become your ‘life giver’ they sometimes give your life back the life that you  may have lost years back due to certain reasons. They sometimes show you the correct path to go seek your life. Think of all these don’t you think that they truly deserve it.     NO! I will never ever forget all the other assistant lectures the tutors ‘ minor staff , the attendants’, the nurses etc each and every singular contributor of this particular entity ‘WORTH MILLIONS AND TRILLIONS’ I am not educated enough to explain the value of their roles.
Forget the ‘professionalism’ here. Yes they are doing their job but I am sure and I am certain that most of them do not think their ‘job’ as a job’ but truly as a service’ amongst them you truly find ‘nightingales’ I love this word.
The patients I don’t think they generally lose their patience ( except few) but other groups of people/individuals who come to visit their ‘patients’ sometimes lose their ‘patience’s I observed this yesterday at teaching hospital Kandy. ‘Who is responsible for one becoming an ill’?
Who is responsible for the illness that you are suffering from chronic or otherwise? The doctors, the advertising agencies, the authorities of food markets, your parents, and then who is responsible for that? Do not tell me that the government is responsible for all these. What is the role of ‘self’ here. I will have to take care of my body from head to toe. How many general universities we have private or public? How many departments teach or offer you a degree a full or complete certificate on other things apart from the theories how are the examiners going to grade them thinking of the lessons that we learn just visiting the places as such. Department of health care, the University of East (?) the department of health science, these faculties you find so important those places are the root or the path to such big Universities. They provide you the necessary foundation before you reach this place of life teachings.
‘Health is a science’ it is not a magic. ‘ eya viddyawak misa wijjawak nemei’. You can go and learn these things paying the money you own or you else you can learn these things ‘free of charge’ what ever way you learn these things one day you will have to enter this premises you have no other choice. ‘To be the most important part of this University, ‘teaching hospitals’ not easy you will have to follow loads of rules and regulations of life. Yes some of these things are not written on the pages of the books of the laws. You will feel tired if you start writing all these because you find ‘no end’ of the things you can learn every possible day you spend here at this University of teachings.
Every single step of the buildings of this place teaches you things. Sometimes teach you the teachings of the Lord Buddha’ or the teachings of your religion. Think about these things. Think of the other teachings that you associate with apart from the things that you will learn visiting this ‘every step is a lesson’ place. How our religious leaders treated the sufferings? What are the things that come to your mind at this moment?
It is not the ‘patients’ and the doctors and their crews teaches you things about life. Think of the ‘visitors’ of different kind. ‘Attention!’ caring’ ‘consciousness’ ‘unconscious’ ‘ignorance’ ‘carelessness’ ‘ ill – will’,  I guess these words too come to ones mind the very moment he/she just enters this place of teachings. You sometimes get the opportunity to see the ‘strength of ones hands’ or skills of using weapons you will get brilliant chances to observe or learn these things at the departments of death. I don’t mind even using a different set of word for this particular department actually we can say’ the faculty of death’ a faculty is huge than a small department right. Do you find any words interesting in here, above mentioned? I like to think of the wills of people sometimes. Are you willing to learn these things free of charge? Then visit this place. You get once in life time opportunity. Do not take too many opportunities and do not try to visit this place too many times. I hope you will understand why?
Think of the sound of an AMBULANCE, this particular vehicle just go passing us we can even say they are flying over to our heads and hearts having a ‘ hope’ in their minds. (The drivers and the team) they are fighting for a life of another. Am I right? But what are we fighting for dear friends? I always try not be a part of any competition not because I believing ‘the disability of wining any competitions but I sometimes feel ‘useless’ ‘emptiness of all these things.  SO this particular vehicle goes and stops where at which point of life you think? Not before you and me but before the very entrance of the ‘University of Teachings’, dear friends. The sounds that we hear what are the things that it brings in to your heart? Think of the people who always experience such sounds how do you feel now?

Can they (the whole team) really waste a moment of life? NO! They can not waste a moment. The moment if you delay visiting this place when it is really necessary to visit than roaming around unnecessary places of life what will happen I don’ think that you need any further clarifications.

I have read the ‘Hippocratic oath’ (is this the correct word) few times. I find no harm reading it not to teach others but to your own refreshment of life’.   I think the wordings are useful and important even for an ordinary person like me.
They deals with ‘life matters’, ‘health matters’ there is a section allocated for the department of Police I am sure. (Correct me if I am wrong) for what? Do you think that they will come and arrest you for not taking care of your own health or for not taking care of your parent or your relative? I feel guilty here my ‘loku amma’ is hospitalized due to ‘ not taking care of her own health’ carelessness’ and yes I can even say also due ‘losing the importance, the value of unity’  a good friend mage loku amma. I am sure that she will recover soon.
All these I learnt thanks to her but this is not the way that I should learn all these. I know pardon me for explaining the condition of my inner mind in such a way.
I find no end ‘thinking of the lessons that one can learn from this Universal life academy ‘ the University of teachings, the teaching hospitals’ I like to say that I may continue writing on this particular topic thinking and specifically  focusing the other parts I missed ‘ the in between departments of this university’  ……………….

Take care of your health!many say that 'HEALTH IS WEALTH! i too believe this.

THIS LAND IS NOT FOR SALE ..........................

THIS LAND IS NOT FOR SALE …………………..

There are lands that you never can think of selling but for sure you can sell certain lands. That can be your own land, a land of an unknown. How can you sell a land of an unknown? Can anyone sell a land that does not belong to that person legally?  People always have way of doing things legal or illegal ways.  Respectable or unexpected or unaccepted ways I thought ……. After listening to yesterday’s news of a similar incident referred to a current incident reported to the police station regarding ‘land selling business’
·
*     What is the role of a land broker?
·
Are there any legalized ways that a ‘land broker’ should follow ( any rules and regulations)?

·         Are there any places (GO) where they can get a license before engage in such business?

·         Do you maintain a list of land brokers in the country at the land registrar’s office?

·         Do all these parties who is engaged in such businesses aware of all the necessary details of the system, if such system exists in this society?

·         IF THERE IS NO SUCH SYSTEM EXISTS IN THIS SOCIETY WHAT CAN THE RELEVANT AUTHORITIES DO TO ESTABLISH SUCH A SYSTEM IN THE SOCIETY?

HERE ARE MY SUGGESTIONS if you are willing to read and accept

I THINK IT IS ESSENTIAL TO ADVERTISE THIS ON PAPERS INCLUDING OTHER MEDIAS ‘ each and every person who work as a ‘LAND BROKER’ must come and register under the relevant authorities.  (as we all know how we sometimes use the walls of the public places/ private places/the notice boards without even getting the permission of the owner of the walls for other purposes – I am not asking you to follow such system.  We all know that some of us are very keen on such things I ma sure the owner of the privately owned walls will not say anything even of if you use their walls without even getting their permission for a ‘ good will’ – but this is not advisable)

Next step
·         now at this point you have the list of people who are engage in such business if they are not willing to support they can not continue their businesses as usual ( this we already mentioned on the advertisement we prepared- right)

The most important step to be taken to my knowledge

·         The relevant authority should issue a ‘something like ‘license’ and an ID card or something giving them the authority to engage in such business.

What are the responsibilities of the citizen of this country? ( imagine in this level we have already given the necessary publicity on each and every details and the steps to be followed as a citizen)

This is important to know

·         People/the citizens have the responsibility then and if you do not try get any help of a registered broker when it comes to purchasing your dream land to build your dream home (under relevant authorities)then you ( the citizens) should not go to ‘police station’ to make any complaints against land dealings

WHY?

BECAUSE AS A CITIZEN OF A COUNTRY YOU SHOULD KNOW THE EXISTING LAWS OF SUCH THINGS AND WE ALL SHOULD FOLLOW THEM. ‘CREATING AWARENESS ON SUCH THINGS ARE ESSENTIAL’  on behalf of the relevant/responsible authorities
·         The responsible authorities can get the help or the fullest support of the ‘responsible media’ partners of this country.  As we all can see they give their heartiest support when ever the citizen of this country need their assistance in even ‘social things’ even they do not hesitate to help even a single citizen personal level even. (we are so lucky to see that how they give their fullest support in most of the things in an unimaginable way).

·          I am sure for something like ‘creating awareness among the citizen of this country on something important and relevant to the society we live in ‘they surely will help.  We have public and private media partners who generally help in many ‘reality’ programs of the country( for an example).  Things will not be that difficult afterwards.

This rule is not only applicable to the land sale outlets or the companies we should follow the same rule for people who engage in similar kind of work.  Then we face fewer hazards or no hazards at all in the latter stage after initiating or implementing such a system. (here I am writing imagining that we have no such a system where you register the ‘land brokers’)

If you are already operating such a system in this country just forget what this irresponsible citizen says then.

It is so good to give their job ‘kind of a professional look’

following is the current status/situation or the existing ways of knowing some information pertaining to lands and its ownerships.

We have a place where we can go and register our land or the land we own legally
If anyone wants to know the very original owner of a land that you are trying to buy ‘yes as the responsible police personals explained yesterday ( pardon me I could not remember the name of the official )‘we should know the PETIKIRIYAof the particular land before we plan to buy it?  That means one needs to go to history of that particular land so for that you should go to the kachcheri ( DS office) of the particular area where the land is available and if you are ready to spend some time there searching ‘ all the PATHTHIRUyou can easily get the relevant details of the land or the  petikiriya’ of the land. (petikiriya is a good Sinhalese word that generally use only by the good Sinhalese who knows to use the language well)

Little patience is required though.
·         There is same day ‘services’ or if you are not in a hurry you can fill a form referring the relevant document ( old registers/ you may find some pages missing- do not worry there is a solution for that) with the help of the people available at the kachcheri (some of these groups do not work for kachcheri but they work for ‘ LAWYERS’ most of them know A – Z of these things.

That is why the decision taken by the responsible authorities to register all the lands available and this particular system would help you to clearly know the owner of each and every land of this country. (the history of a particular block of land)
I have heard about a COMPUTERIZED system which is really good. That will take time but TO START something GOOD AND TO FINISH IT IN A GOOD WAY YOU NEED TO OBEY THE TIME.  Time is required for everything.  I am sure that we have enough of ‘officers who work for GO and for the people of this country.  WE HAVE ENOUGH OF HUMAN RESOURCES EVEN TO GO AND WIN THE WHOLE WORLD. ( I believe and we have already shown and proved it to the outer world)
·         Human resources equal to human brains (master brains)

In addition to that ………………… I like to explore my views in to some other directions as well

I don’t know the limit of this land selling business?

How much do we really own 65 610 square kilometers right? Not more than that for sure. That is what I learnt at the school. Has it changed now? What is the current calculation?

ONE SHOULD NOT BE MISTAKEN THIS PARTICULAR LAND THAT HAS 65 610 SQUARE KILO METERS IS NOT FOR SALE.  NOT A SINGLE INCH.  Even if internationally recognized, registered (under international laws) land brokers come and say ‘we are willing to buy this land that has so much of resources within’ is that really possible? Can anyone ‘foretell’ the future of such people?.

You can price or value the land that you own privately and then sell it for a good and reasonable price.  The little blocks of lands within the land ‘ NOT FOR SALE’
A land full of water is truly blessed. If you find no water in the particular land you are planning to sell no way you can sell it. You can highly value the lands that own natural water springs/ wells/ or public water sources. A land becomes no use if there is no water in it. Luckily we have enough of water for everything. We are the richest in that way compared to most of the other countries.

You can take a handful of water from a flowing river. You don’t need to pay. But the water that comes and stops in your house facing and passing a lot of places, the dams like Victoria, I can’t even explain the value of such systems in a better way.
The agricultural lands are also can be sold but I know how difficult it is for a farmer to sell his/her own land to someone that gave his hearts and minds at home (the family) some grain of rice.

A paddy land or a Chena land is the heart of the farmer.  They don’t dream of selling their lands inherited by their ancestors but they sometimes mortgage out what they have just to find some money for their kid’s education, for their daughters going away party.  I remember some farmers; some years ago had to commit suicide due to their money matters pertaining to ‘agricultural loans taken’ that was then. (In polonnaruwa?)

This world is full of ‘buying and selling’ things or we can say many businesses come under this category ‘buying and selling’ BUT THERE ARE THINGS YOU NEVER EVER CAN DREAM OF SELLING.  Not only lands, ‘urumayan,’‘guna daham’ ‘mithudam’, ‘hadawath’’ Honda hith’, ‘lengathukam’ ‘hithawathkam’ these things come under ‘wealth of human beings’ ‘wealth of our nation

Our children, 'the internet' 'Toys' and the security of their hearts and minds ...................

pdvï jerÈ,d ........... ‘paadam weradeela me paarath panthiye anthimaya ……………..

A naughty ‘bonikka’ (a doll) is responsible for all these it seems. Sister of the kid has found out the reason for her lovely sisters becoming the last of the class in her exams faced, failures of lessons. This sister is not happy at all and she is complaining with a annoying voice  therefore the owner of this doll had decided to leave the house with her beloved friend ‘ doll’  ……………

There is a complain from a sister and a request follow following  lines of that popular song …………………. ‘Mage Honda lassana bonikka’

paadam weradeela mepaarath panthiye anthimaya
okkotama mula bonikka
kiala baninawa loku akka

a hindaa mama yanawa yannata enawada maa ekka …………..

Foot path is not a recommended site or a blog for children. This is good for the adults like you and me. I think they should not follow ‘my way of English’ and must follow ‘the standard way, good English’ that is another reason. I thought it is good to refresh my own mind listening to few ‘children’s songs’ and I do not write this to your kids. I know that some of you read what I write and I like to thank you for that so this essay is not for your kids.

Shall I ask you a question before in elaborate my ideas on several few things that I think is good to share?  Do you generally ‘monitor’ and ‘evaluate’ your kids of the things that they read, watch and play? Do you get some time free for that? This is not applicable to me because I have no kids to look after at home but yes at school.

I guess most of our kids (I am sure that it is alright to use the word ‘our’ though I do not have any kids) own a computer at home. They reach home before you and may be they are at home during after school hours with their grandparents or sometimes with some others who is there to help your kids looking after them when you are away from home at your work place, until you come back home may be after dark facing a busy or a hectic day.

The children are ‘curious’ of many things they generally know that they can use internet to search information they want. (I teach one day a week so I get a little chance to associate with kids) if you just enter the first few letters on the search bars ‘www. F……….. it is not just the ‘www.footpath’ comes and appear before them for instance  you may see ‘fences’ ‘friends’ ‘flowers’, ‘future’, the words that starts with letter ‘f’. so after the letters ‘www’ you may get several options that the google or other friends suggests us saying’’ have a look we have good stuff as well’. – But we can not assure our kids of the things that come under these attractive, commonly used words wrapping with lovely attractive looking gift wrappers.  We should remember here the kids not like you and me they just peep in to anything they see or appear on the screen (they are kids no!)  It is good to look after your kids from ‘esbendum www.’s
How often do you do that? how oftern you sit with your kids and discuss these things?

Let me take this opportunity to appreciate the decision taken by the relevant parties to ban the unnecessary harmful www. ’s for the sake of our children I guess that is a good step taken to control such things.

Now there is a huge possibility of using internet compared to past.  Currently you find such programs/ projects introduced or initiated by GO and other organizations of the country i.e ‘nenasala’ therefore this ‘tool’ has become a popular thing among the schools children.  ‘The computer or the internet’ is not a stranger anymore. In most of the countries the teachers or the lectures has less work to do now there task is to ‘observe or monitor’ their students than teaching them writing and explaining each and everything using ‘a black board’ (we had back boards and ‘hunu kura’ not white boards or marker pens) .
They now have improved and developed the ‘self learning abilities’ compared to my days at school their way is to use the internet than referring the books available at libraries.  I assume the child is moving away from the closest library unfortunately. I like the ‘E TEACHER’ concept this is a lovely concept but regular monitoring needs to be done.

I guess when the ‘internet becomes their one and only friend then the teacher + student’ company’ may collapse. The children will miss some important things in the future. I am little worried about such things. What will happen to the long live ‘bonds’ that teacher and the student’ maintain in general school hours and sometimes afterwards …………..

Pena mada kadithi wew thawula wehi kaale
penna maga nomaga nowetee yana thaale……………………

sip kiri pewu musilayin udu maale sip kiri pewu musilayin udu maale Ape guruthuma yai thaamath iskole’

Will they ever get a chance in the future to memorize their childhood as a happy adult thining of the days that they share knowledge with their ‘teachers’

Guru niwahane kandulata sithuwamak wela loku hamine etha bithu sithuwamak wela ………………..

Will they ever get the feeling of ‘pleasure of learning’ together with their friends?  Will they ever get a chance to learn and understand the ‘true meaning of ‘sharing’ ‘ cooperation’ ‘helping each other’ ‘respect’ each others ‘ideas and knowledge’. I am writing this also thinking of the completions that they face within their own minds and brains.

Certainly I feel that the values of some things that we respect these days in our life pertaining to the systems such as ‘education’ etc will these things like ‘internet’ take away from us sooner or later?  I don’t like to think this internet as a victim for such things therefore we should give our kids the necessary guidance to use this useful net in a useful way getting the maximum use. Help your kids.

There should be a very strict monitoring program for kids in your in house organizations. If you just type the letter ‘N’ you may get the chance to enjoy all the naked pictures of everybody who generally appear on such pages or the pictures that have created by some  ill will people having  the idea in mind to harm the personalities, popular figures of a country etc.

So we should monitor the things that our kids watch and associate.

I know that there are things that your kids can read and watch with no hesitations. There are registered web pages or the blogs which maintains ‘the quality of contents’ up to a certain ‘standards’ so those things do not come under the categories of what I talked earlier in this writing.

I enjoy children’s song not because that they are beautiful and sung by beautiful kids mainly because I love the lyrics.

Aththamma niwan gihin apata godaak aaathai ……………

‘japan rate upatha laba lankawata aawa mage lassana bonikka es natawa bala balaa ………….’

Kurumbatti machime mage kurumbetti machime ……………

Above are few lines from children’s songs that I like and enjoy very much.

Those are Kiddies songs sung by kids you also find songs that sung by adults for kids.
The words that some of the lyrists have used gives all of us so much of a ‘aliveness’ to our own lives and I also believe that they teach us life lessons some times. If you take the words of your preference in some of the songs you will understand this.

Aththamma niwan gihin apata godak aathai ………….. I love these lines those things remind me of ‘a mind of a kid’ the way that a child think these lines reminds me of such things.

The minds of the kids are so ‘sensitive’ and ‘creative’ too. So we should create them such backgrounds in the environment they live and spend most of their times They know how to use their knowledge they collate from here and there in a very innovative way. But the danger here is that they do not have that ability to differentiate what is best and what is worst or good or bad. They think everything is good. Everything that they see is ‘right’ and ‘suitable’

‘guwan wduliye lama mandapaya’ I have heard this from almost all the well-known singers of our country most them have come through associating such back grounds.
‘Ms. Sumana nellampitiya’ is a very lovable character.

Mr. Karunaratne Abeysekara’ is a huge legend and he has provided so much of shade to his friends and to the amateurs at that time he was a teacher to many at that time. All who has associated him, I have read they say ‘he was certainly like a huge tree’

Pahana thiya budu saaduta himidirie hemadaa denna gedarin enawa
Es nopenena amma ehi thani karala  (lyrics - Bandula Nanayakkkarawasam)

‘ katu akule mal ehere ralu ahase tharu hinehe katu akule mal ehare ………
Kurulu gee gaayana
(Peshala mendin – lyrics -kumaradasa saputhanthri ?)
………..

The kids generally enjoy playing with weli and pol katu they just follow the things what their mother do in their kitchen cooking, cleaning etc and they try to learn these things looking at them observing them ‘their real kitchen’ generally is the ‘model kitchen’ for them to learn such things.

The girly kids wears sari like their ammala or like aachchi amma ‘the kids generally follow what their adults do even we as kids did that I hope you lovely big girls can remember those things.

Midule weli maligawe sakwithi padawiya labanna galweta langa wade wela sanda paayana heti balanna
Sathara disa jayagena mama hanika emi
Obe sanda hiru wee eliya demi  (sung by -Peshala Mendis/ lyrics- Kumaradasa saputhanthri)

The above is a revelation of a heart of a little daughter I remember listening to this beautiful song as a school kid. Ms Peshala Mendis then a tiny, tiny faced girl that is what I remember when I try to memorize the ‘picture I saw on the TV screen years ago.

Let me also take this chance to wish ‘the independence television’ (ITN) network who is celebrating her 33rd birth year. Surviving for 33 years with all the difficulties, facing new competitors of the same field that is not easy I know but to last 100 years we need to try and protect our own values without getting distract from outside changes, changes that generally happen in the privately maintained lives like ‘ me and other watchers or the views of you’ it is so genuine if we all can maintain our own standards without letting our own minds to spoil the genuineness or the integrity of our well looked after ‘young lady’ ‘ITN’. Here comes the value of ‘monitoring’ and try and let the ‘mediators’, the announcers to understand the true meaning of maintaining the quality of the work of the organization and the importance of maintaining ‘the relationship between the viewer and the mediator’ some of the ‘parroting kids’ in the recent past I noticed how they used their ‘gifted job’ they all are the students who grows under your arms. This is not particularly applicable to the ‘ITN” and it is not actually applicable to everything and everyone even though I use this chance to talk about this. ITN is not the only channel that exists in this field.
‘Viewers’ are also an independent bodies’ I think we all should remember and keep that in our mind and it is very important.  We should not let the ‘gossips’ or dark shadows come and embrace the eternity of the organizations.

MY congratulations to you Sir and to your team for all your achievements!

The parades are wonderful memorable things of a childhood. People with colourful minds who come to watch with their kids wearing colourful dresses are a nice view to watch. The rhythms of ‘desheeya bera handa and bera pada, the local drums it provide us a beautiful picture. There are things that our kids can learn.

Peli peli hedee aththu hadanawa
Bola bola bola wage eli kerakenawa
Ape game wihaarayata perahera yanawa

I also noticed that some parents buy ‘guns’ for their kids. NO not the real ones to buy such things we adults need permission or should own a license no? This is different the ‘toys’. So the child happily try to operate it aiming the head of his/her own father who has bought this so valuable ‘toy’ not because he knows the outcome of using such ‘toys’ the kid is trying to play that is all.

The clever parents buy their kids ‘books’ not the ‘toy guns’ so my salute goes for them.
What a difference! No! I am not trying to compare ‘this’ parent with ‘that’ parents, my parents with their parents or the parents of Sri Lanka with the parents of USA no it is not possible. I am trying to think of the differences of the ‘toys available in the market’ especially in the kiddies markets.

Let me not forget to mention the ever loving dolls  the dear and near friend of all eras’ I know that their looks have changed, now the toy manufactures have become so creative you can purchase different types of dolls that comes under different names ‘ the Barbie dolls etc . They are lovely ones I am sure you will agree with me.

Let us create a better world for our children watch what they read monitor who they go and meet after school. Talk to the ones who keep an eye on your beautiful playful kids especially near the gates of the school they may carry or bring ‘toffees and chocolates’ for your lovely kids ‘I don’ think the responsible parties could manage to eliminate the ‘heroine’ dealers totally from the vicinity of the ‘schools’ where your kids are learning. It is good to remind your kids those are not always the toffees or chocolate that come wrapped with similar packages.

They are our future.

Who worth not and who worth a lot ………………………………

People carry words where ever they go and then share. I pick words from you and keep them, store them somewhere and someone else may come and pick them from me and take them to somewhere. May be they carry the words that they picked from you, me, and from them to a place that we have never heard before or have never been to.

Then these words that we share, collate, pick from different people at different places at different times become ‘every ones’ words. These letters, words shows no ownership or territories but sometimes ‘identities’ of the people who use them.

Words and people are two beautifully bonded things when it comes to ‘understanding’ the minds of ones own and a person as a whole.
What is most important ‘words’ or the ‘people’? For me it is a difficult question to answer because I understood how difficult it is for me to give an answer for such a qualitative question? I sometimes do not find any mathematics in human relationships. Sometimes we ask from our parents as a child and years later as an adult the following.

Amma wediyenma aadare kaatada?  (They generally do not take sides but it is we as a child assume things, ‘amma wediyen aadare mallita’ natural we were kids then)
There comes a time that we again becomes a child and some tend to ask (not all though) from their kids, sometimes secretly
Putha wediyenma aadare kaatada?
Why? We sometimes like to know such things, we like weighing and measuring things. We expect them to say ‘mama wediyen aadare ammata/thaththata’

How many of you have experienced such ‘conversations’ in your life? Those things are totally attached with your inner, deep mind. Those are external to the relationships that we maintain with the outer world.  We sometimes express only the half of the things that we really want to express when it comes to measuring the importance or the value of a person. You may find a lot stored within you that you may have not expressed, or undelivered yet.

The words ‘certify’ the importance of ‘human relationships’ of any sort. How are we going to do the Calculations?  Can we really find an answer for such questions that I sometimes ask and I asked the same as my title today?

Who worth not and who worth a lot?

Mr ‘A’ worth this much and Miss ‘D’ worth nothing can we really say like that? NO every single person of this universe is unique and has some and some value.  Some do not always show ‘who they are’ or ‘what they can do’, ‘how they can do’ but that does not mean that they are uncountable or can not include them in to your list of friends or members or helpers, advisers, well wishers, partners etc.

‘The Wise’ never think that Mr. A is unimportant and they never think that Mr. ‘S’ is the most important of all. You may have not met the most important person yet. They may yet to be born.

Everything that we experience in this world is ‘comparative’ we say things in comparison to something or someone but that does not indicate that ‘A’ or ‘B’ are important and others are not. What you need to do sometimes is to ‘explore’ and expand your team of friends, helpers in what ever field that you have engaged with. Even if you do not own a company or even if you are not a member of certain group etc. every company is important and very contribution is worth. For that you have to walk miles , miles and miles and at the end they may all not stay with you but they may add some ‘colours’ to your door of  inner mind or they may polish the outer layer of your life at least for a certain time period. Each and every encounter adds some shine to your life, one can not really neglect or disgraceful of their contribution. They may not belong to the group of wiser but they may do something for you in the future, for your happiness. They may give you a ‘drop’ of advice that may be useful in the future, in years to come.

Every meeting is ‘important’ when ever you meet new or an unknown, we need to use our words in a wiser way without harming the inner side of the person that we meet. I like to remind you this once again’

‘People carry words where ever they go and they share the words that we shared with them with the others they meet, may be with people unknown to or known to them for years.

You may meet some people only for a shorter period, or the life time of a meeting may not longer than few minutes or couple of hours. Let us assume that we meet Mr. “B” for the first time and we spend few minutes together sharing our views, sharing few words pertaining to different things we see or hear etc. Sometimes we may share our views on particular commonly discussed things such as ‘countries’ current peaceful situation, ‘economic situation’, the importance of the contribution of religious parties on certain things, or  we may talk something totally different to such ‘things’ about ‘weather situation’, about a sari that you may have recently purchased. I thinks even such discussions may useful to you to a certain extent why ‘those re market information’.  You can compare the rates of shop ‘a’ with shop b etc. there is nothing unimportant or not worth.

We never know we may never meet the particular person again that we meet at a particular time but there is a possibility that we can take something from the conversations we hold and can carry them forward. So I believe this is how our messages, ideas, concepts, go in to people and people’s mind.  Sometimes they never will forget what we shared with them because of the words we spoke or because of the things that we discuss etc.

NO one is foolish I believe. Every single person discuss things his her own within of the things they hear, see, or watch. People don’t always necessarily express their views all the time or share them with others, their true feelings of something etc may be because they never get such chance for such occasions. People don’t always get chances to share their views of something with others ‘totally’ ‘completely may be due to lack of time or the time duration of such a meeting etc but they talk to them selves, discuss, analyze, weigh, delete, add so therefore I believe it is so important to talk to people you meet you may find ideas valuable to you or you may find ideas that you may have never thought of using before, as important ideas or as useful ideas’. After each and every conversation it is worth weighing or measuring the things the way you understand things but for sure in a ‘human’ way. You need to weigh them putting in to the ‘human scale’. Not easy.

How many of us get a chance to express our views at a place like ‘RIO 20’ or at a similar place. Only the authorized, the representatives or the people that have connection with some sort of network get the chances to address or to share or to convince what they have to convince to the outer world. Can we really say that though one person is representing in such ‘gatherings’ sharing his/her own views on something can we say that those are the ideas that the rest of the groups, people are holding. I can say ‘Yes’ to a certain extent because he/she is a part if the bigger world or the bigger community. Yet you may find something ‘missing’ in there if you think of the ideas of the ‘whole’? There should be a way that each and every person can contribute their ideas, suggestions on something let’s say on some newly implementing programs etc.  then you may get better chances on elaborating your ideas on a better way or implementing something in a most suitable way etc.

An election is ( this is my personal view) something that people get a chance to show their internal calculations of something or of some, or particular group and their contribution to society analyzing in a more holistic way. They analyze things for years and some actually waiting for such chances to show what they feel about on certain thing, a program, ideas, visions, missions, development project some actually take these things to show their gratitude and at the same times about things they that they don’t accept or unwelcome.  A vote indicates an ‘analysis of a person of certain thing.

It is not easy to convince something for a person/people mainly because they are not alone they are a part of this huge society that generally shows complexities of ideas, minds, levels of divisions of something so the particular person/group has to deal with each other , with other different groups as well. The particular person who sees things may be in a totally different way than the way we see things has to weigh and measure things according to his/her own levels of understanding etc. so better communication is important in everything. Then things become easy.

What do you think of the ‘beggars’ that you see begging or asking money or other things from you? What is the ‘identity’ of such groups/person, do they own any identities? What is your view here on this?  ‘Beggar’ is that the identity that they hold. You may know of different categories of beggars.  That is different, here I am thinking of the groups or singular persons that we see on road sides ‘begging’. Don’t you think that they have ears and eyes? Don’t you think that they too sometimes discuss things with their fellows? Can we seal or tag them as ‘neglected’ ‘useless’. The person who begs in Nugegoda today may change their place and may go to ‘ thimbirigasyaya’ tomorrow.

I think that it is so good for a person who study the society and think of getting or gaining their contribution as ideas or as knowledge that can be used for the development of your inner mind. As a step one should and must go to ‘Gama’ that you may have not visited before. You may meet entirely different group of people, people that may hold entirely different valuable ideas than the groups that you may meet everyday or every week.
Person who lives and works in Colombo may go to ‘kelediwulweva’ tomorrow. I just wrote these few words to remind you again that ‘people carry words’ ideas and their personal views when they travel from place to place.

You collate ideas, words from the person that comes to you first, and then you keeps them with you then comes the second person, third person etc ‘people have different abilities of ‘understanding’, ‘analyzing’ things sometimes it is good to go to a place before everyone else reach to have better seating position let’s say at a conference, musical program, a theatre hall then you get a chance to have a more closer view on something, you get a better picture than you visiting last at the very last moment. If you visit such a place last you may lose the chances of sitting in a good place with a good angle where you see things better way than sitting in a distance corner. How good it is if we never forget to visit the friends who live in a far way places.

Every single person is important and holds some value within. To identify or to understand every ones ‘value’ you need to walk, talk and stop somewhere and then analyze what you have read, saw, heard of at that moment. You may find something ‘important in them’ People sometimes behave in a foolish way but not always sometimes you can see that the people that we generally tag as ‘foolish’ behaves, or acts, reacts in a brilliant way ‘wiser way’,compared to most of us. Then you happen to think ‘who are the foolish? Are we really belonging to the ‘wiser’ category?
There is a saying that my mother used to say sometimes that is a popular saying ‘

‘kukul gooth behethata owne wenawa’

Think of the meaning I am not good in translating such things in a better way. You should not say looking at something this is ‘shit’ one never tries to ‘neglect’ or ‘disrespect’ anyone you know or even the ones that you do not know much or the ones that you know too much.

It is sometimes good to welcome the ideas of the tyrants as well. Those are ideas, suggestions, may be not the ‘whole’ but a ‘drop’ of what they say opposing to the ideas of yours. Am I right? Every word has some meaning, every words has something to take, absorb may be from the outer look they may seems ‘useless’ because of the coloures that embedded with anger and ‘jealousy’ etc.  These things are natural when it comes to human relationships we all belong to the category called ‘pruthagjana’ not belong to the category of ‘Saints’ or ‘Arhat’ .
