Budget 2013 – from an ordinary citizen point of view …………………….

I am an ordinary citizen. I can weigh things without putting them in to any political weighing machines. If one can weigh things putting something in to an apolitical weighing or measuring machines I believe we can see many facets or sides of something in many different ways. This world is full of ‘uncountable’ ‘things and people with uncountable number of desires and needs and wants. The nature of ‘humankind’ is that ‘there is no limit in the things they require or plans to acquire.  If you think of just general ‘subjects’ forgetting the sub lanes or sub topics or the minor wants that we derive from the major needs and wants ‘we can just have a clue or an idea’ of our never ending needs and wants  – take education for instance.  After our school ‘education’ we plan our next step of higher education this higher has no end or limit. There is no ‘wrong’ in these things I am just trying to think of this taking this sector of hopes personal as an example of our never ending needs and wants. I like to think that ‘our needs and wants sometimes go in parallel to the acceptance or standards statuses that ‘society’ gives for something
In what ever achievements that we aimed at in our personal lives - professional or otherwise ‘ it is very rare that we satisfy with what we have or what we get/GAIN in general’

People’s never ending needs and wants will lead them to ‘un restful life’ I am thinking.
I can look at this in a sister point of view, I can analyze this as ‘a relative of a farmer’ point of view, a can support this as a ‘friend’- point of view, certain things.
I am not going to touch the whole big pages of budget details – 2013 but few of the things only that caught my eye.

I have come to a conclusion after listening to the Budget – 2013 details that ‘ this will help to uplift / improve the MENTAL HEALTH OF PEOPLE’ to some level and also my idea is that we must find  a way as to ‘how to limit the big allocations we allocate for sector of health’ and redirect those money or invest them in some other sectors we all can think of such things as to what sectors or how we should do that.

We will face no issues in future the government price decider/controller the lak sathosa will be reaching its 1000 outlets countrywide in 2013 that is a good news when it comes to food plus thinking of ‘good/better quality’.  If you set up more outlets people do not have to go to ‘privately maintain retail or whole sale shops’ if people doubt or think that there is no price control over consuming products or they charge the amount they want -in the sector of privately maintain outlets. They have the ‘Sathosa’ choice then.  And ‘corporative shops’ – there should not be any delays in getting the loads of food stuff or other stuff in reaching  the outlets – the loads that you send these outlets quickly finishing may be because more people depend on such places.

And it is a very healthier decision that the Budget 2013 has taken this time to increase the allocations for health sector 125 billion rupees. But I guess we need to think of how to reduce the amount allocate and how to be invested the saved amount from health sector allocations in the sector of some other ‘development procedures.  How can we think of limiting the ‘budgetary allocations for ‘health sector’ that you keep to solve the health hazards, controllable or avoidable that we face (I am NOT talking of limiting the money for other investment or allocations to uplift the ‘health level of a person’ for instance – awareness, improve the services provide, better internal system of all health centers that government maintains, better or more seating facilities, more beds for wards  if they think that there is some issues in the very rural sectors/ areas.

If you think of ‘ CHRONIC HEALTH ISSUES that we suffer in general, if you think of other health hazards MAJOR that we suffer, if you think of ‘UNPLANNED UNEXPECTED health issues that can be TOTALLY CONTROLLABLE OR REDUCED ‘ ACCIDENTS’ – ROADS OR OTHER WISE, if you think of the health hazards that we face due to lack of knowledge on general health issues like HIV or other hazards/issues that  lead ones life towards LONG SUFFERABLE LIFE  -dangerous DRUGs, if one can think of CONTROLABLE OR REDUCIBLE health hazards by ‘ MAKE PEOPLE AWARE OF MORE ON SUCH AREA. WE CAN SAVE A LOT OF MONEY.  We do not want to spend money on buying more beds for wards if the number of patients come and admit in the hospital reduces each year.

I heard that minister Maithripala Sirisena told that the ministry has decided to notify the patients as to how much they allocate annually or in generally per person for their health issues also he indicated that ‘for some health issues the government pay amounts like Rs. 140 000 per person am I right sir is this amount right?  I am thinking of how to improve their health without them stepping in to the premises of hospitals or the ways of improving their health in other ways’.

I am thinking how much money that a family spends in general for their health issues annually or monthly because some do not come to government facilities. If a member suffers from a chronic condition/s the situation is different I believe.  I do not know how much money we spend to buy ‘medicines’ generally from outside drugs manufacturing companies ( from India or from any other countries) do we manufacture any medicines we need locally apart from paracetamol or other vitamin stuff.  If the number of patience the doctors see daily in the government hospitals comes down that is certainly a good news when think of the ‘development of health sector’ –personal lives or development of personal health situations. The Rajya osusla is certainly a relief when thinking of the ‘good heart theory of Dr. Senaka Bibile.

How can we find a solution for CARELESSNESS OF TAKING CARE OF ONES OWN HEALTH LEVELS that is also another issue to be addressed but I have no idea how to start such PROGRAMS. I do not know whether we can start or initiated this at ‘SCHOOLS ‘( I know that this is currently happening because they are educated on the subjects like ‘HEALTH SCIENCE  any other we can do? Can we think of such things?   We need to think of each and every single unit of this our society and focus the issues that generally face due to lack of awareness on these things or carelessness, or ‘only focused on PROFIT SOMEHOW nothing else minded people no think of health of a person when it comes to ‘drug manufacturing’ (think of the recent incidents we face o do not have to name)   if we can non stoppingly rate the ‘food selling or cooking places small or big food manufacturing places to find out whether they ‘follow the standard or the accepted ways to manufacture or cook the stuff they sell- because majority of the people today due to their rest less life or due to very busyness or ‘ laziness’’ ‘people think of going out and eat’ or many depend on the ‘take away’ – outlets. Constant checking the places is it  mainly the duty of P.H.I officers (public health inspectors)?

Again the other controllable issues such as Dengue barawa what ever health related issues or what ever way you name these issues – we can save a lot of money. Why pay then to import ‘this and that of bacteria’ from Cuba or from another place we can think of export our things we locally manufacture here – good stuff than importing such things.  CAN SAVE SOME MONEY’

School development societies here have a major and responsible role to play.
Yes, yes I agree that ‘home department also has a huge responsibility over most of the things. The wife or the mother ‘ who generally take care of the ‘kitchen department can think of ‘HOW TO COOK THE MEAL OF THE DAY’ protecting the health ingredients nutrients from  the things cook doing cut and chopping the way they like. This cutting and chopping I guess allows you t o protect the nutrients at the very beginning point of cooking. There are veggies that ‘you should not cut ‘heen heeniyata’ in to very tiny and tiny pieces, if you think of cooking them under the authority of controllable but do not think of sometimes controlling ‘fire/heat – flame of the cooking stove’ you will not be able to protect the ‘values of vegies’ – if you do not think of such things you will have to face such issues I believe. This is how we can think of ‘eradicating the ‘MALNUTRITION’ issues. Agree?  You do not have to intake such vitamins that we destroy in the process of cooking from the outside department or from the government health departments – this SAVEs MONEY.

Yes farmers you need to think about ‘using as much as possible organic non harmful fertilizers to cultivate what ever you think of cultivating this season or in next season Paddy or Potatoes or other veggies in a organic way please. See you will be getting FOURTY rupees ( Rs. 40/=) per 1 KILO OF PADDY YOU CULTIVATE ORGANIC WAY – you will be rewarding such a way giving a highest price for paddy if you think of such things , cultivate such a way.  This SAVES OUR MONEY that we have to allocate to solve health issues that we face – annually or every budget reading year. And please follow the instructed ways, the instructions given to transport the veggies or other food stuffs you cultivate – your yield my friends in a safer way to Dambulla or to Colombo Pettah markets or to the ‘Arthika welanda madhyasthaana’  . Saves money in an indirect way reduces health hazards the chances of getting spoiling your sent harvest to the towns until they reach our kitchen love department.

Even if you follow the non organic way at least try to have the patience to ‘use the eye/face protecting equipment’ hand glows  etc when using pesticides or fertilizer that the government issues you for a bearable price via the FO’s. Do not come to the hospital seeking treatment if you do not thinking of following the necessary guidance – they might charge you a ‘FINE.

I am not aware of the current situation are you still charging any fines from the ones who comes seeking treatment taking too much alcohol or for alcohol related health issues. Is it still the 10 bags of cements you charge or has it change?

AND the 25/% charge of tax or Vat for ALCOHOL OR CIGARRET import ( sorry friends who engage in such business selling cigarettes and alcohol we have no choice than thinking of every possible alternative as to how we can save money without  investing too much of money for the health sector. I am a happy sister I do not know whether my I doubt they use them regularly but even if they use them once in a way that is harmful.  Not good for their health. I do not know whether they will control the uses of such things at least there will be some changes in the home fronts I like to believe.

So all these above discussed things IF FOLLOW or can be followed will BRING PEACE OF MIND TO ALL not just good but VERY GOOD TO MAINTAIN THE MENTAL HEALTH of all IN A VERY GOOD CONDITIONS.

Let me come to that little later or may be now.
Now according to the budget 2013 YOU WILL BE GETTING Fairly A HEAVY ‘TAKE HOME PACK – YOUR SALARY or more than what you getting now and this will support better MENTAL HEALTH.

These things SAVES MONEY in the long run from the sector of the health let’s think of allocating that saved big money for something else may be much more in development activities outside Colombo. Please do not touch the little, little gravel roads along the ‘weva’s – the tanks. They look good and healthy with an adjoining gravel road. I mean do not think of concreting them as well. So these things will motivate the hearts and minds of all at home fronts & all other fronts and saves money at the same time.

The Strikers of JULY 80,  age over 65 will be receiving Rs. 5000 monthly I guess this decision has already added uncountable smiles to their faces. Peace of mind. Thinking of health of our people this is a good investment.

LET ME COME TO OUR FUTURE, the future of our country- CHILDREN. How this decision might change or the uplift the ‘health of minds of all’ – the parents will be happy to receive a pair of shoes for free. Another set of uniform material in the middle of the year apart from – what they get at the beginning of the year’ – THESE THINGS SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MIND OF A SCHOOL CHILD’ – improving health in a indirect way or one can say direct way -a better investment. In addition to that ‘ the free grains, milk, eggs’ for children this will no doubt eradicate all the early childhood health hazards if they face any issues currently – I AM NOT AWARE OF SUCH THINGS BECAUSE I HAVE NO DATA OR HAVE NOT READ ANYTHING RECENTLY but I can see this as a future investment - already.
Again I can note here - ‘The school children will have a ‘smiling education journey – the students of isolated school/s(?) because of the decision taken.

Welaawa nowaradawa
Bethi pem Upadawa
akuru uganiw kumaru sondawa

Please do not forget that I am NO EXPERT I see this as an ordinary citizen point of view. You may have a different view on these compared to the ideas - mine.

The decision taken to uplift the ‘Families – Ranaviru by improving and fulfilling their housing needs you have touched the hearts and minds of all I believe. No man or woman can say ‘why doing such a thing’ I believe because that is for ‘Ranaviru Families – the ‘heroes who sacrificed their time and family moment for us to enjoy from our living destinations in a safer environ ’. LET ME SALUTE ONE OF OUR HEROES MAJOR SHAVENDRA SILVA this moment we have not forgotten your efforts and contributions we will not forget the ‘effort and strength you had to invest or contribute recently and even in the past.
Eat right ‘think right and stay right – we can save a lot of money and invest them in another activity –I am thinking of “Osu sala – sections to be installed at laksathosa branches.
The producers of various Peni hakuru and coconuts food products– (Honey and juggery’) will have a peaceful life that is because of ‘no issues - ‘permits relates’ when engage in the businesses and they need a ‘better market’ too. You should no your limit in using very sugary or very sweet things – thinking of health. This will give some relief for them sure again health improvements indirect way of ONE SIDE.

HOW CAN I FORGET the relives that the ‘last time drought affected lands of paddy and the farmers with bit of worried face especially the ones who has taken loans from the banks to cultivate – they do not have to pay back the interest – A TOTAL RELEIF and until the next season comes MAHA they can postpone paying back the ‘basic loan’ taken, the promised installments.

And your promise to give the farmers ‘the seed – paddy’ they need for forth coming season and this decision was taken to compensate what was lose due to drought -‘another way to give a relief for them.  ‘Peace of mind’ is so vital in life.

Tea small holders – holds a big place in the big industry of tea I am sure. Any relief that they get is ‘so vital’ tea bring us – foreign currency. When the aadeshaka comes we need to monitor how they use advertisements sometimes – sorry to say what ever who ever gives if that will add some shine or some brightness to our economy there is no harm in absorbing them.  If you find any particular thing or a product a plant etc was introduced by or during colonial periods that is ‘no matter if that brings no harm to our society or to the people of our society’ I am talking about ‘alternatives for tea’ or kind of’. I see no good quality advertising in promoting a product if it harms some other big industry that many lives depend on , workers growers.  ‘Better or good quality advertising never harms a another product they just use their own ways to face the competition or they use or experiments as to how their talents can be used to promote a business or a product or ‘on how to compete with the other products’. They are careful about the words they use. This is my personal idea about I just heard a radio advertisement this morning about a certain product I disliked it. this is my personal view if something is good or that benefits a whole big society do not try to think of his/her ‘petikiriya’ or do not try to go search whether the person who introduced the things is an enemy or a benefactor – what we can do is appreciate.   If we can look at something avoiding putting them in to our ‘individual or personal levels’ frameworks and see them with a wide eye and a mind we face less problems I believe.

I just tried to see this year Budget details above mentioned way though no one asked me my opinion. I thought what harm sharing my views with you all and I know that teams/groups/individuals/parties may hold different views or views opposing to mine or about the budget details – what ever comments should or will encourage the procedures to be followed in the future I guess better or critical views always brings good not bad.

Wish you all fruitful & discussion full week – era ahead !

Dear My Darling PRIVACY this is your friend ' Daisy' .............................

Dear my darling ‘PRIVACY’ this is your friend daisy

Hi …………………..

I do not know how to tell you this ‘dear Privacy’. You know that this friend Daisy like her privacy sooooo soooo much. my sis girl has read your last time sent letter. i thought of writing this to you not to complain but you know i am little disappointed about her. anyways you know that she is my favorite ever and never changing sis how can i say this to her. that is the problem no i have these days ' don't worry i will find a way to convince her' these things.

I remember we learnt a, b, c, d, e together with g, h, i ,j, k,l, m  and n etc - the English Alphabet - 'our teacher taught'

A for apple
B for ball
C for cat
D for dog
E for elephant
F for friend

RIGHT?

I was thinking whole last night. What does this word ‘privacy means’ – the meaning of your name darling?

P for ‘personal’
R for ‘right’
I for Intelligent
V for Valuable
C for contacts
Y for ‘young’

Do not ask me what Daisy means some write it ‘Deshi’ I have told them nay times first learn to write my name ‘Daisy’ in a right way. Then try get the meaning of Daisy. Though this name is a name from a particular Deshaya  or shows ones ‘identity’ my grand father ( he named me as Daisy) had thought of the ‘unusuality’ of the name not of the meaning or the normalcy of ‘easy to pronounce’.   But I love Delia, daspathiya,

So my name is ‘Daisy’

write me correct and read me correct alright?

D……. a……..i…….s…….y

So D is not for dangerous or drought or dhal because I don’t like dhal it is D for Danowita I was bread and born in Danowita one should love their born village no.

D for Danowita

You my towny Handsome I am sure you are not aware of this village ‘Danowita’ or Dehiowita. Our village is full of ‘dan’ madan’ and you find them all along the owita. You find owita’s only in villages no, no owita's in towns. It is not ‘wita’ it is ‘owita’ vita is something to do with ‘Beetles’ not that worldly famous beatles this is a leaf not good for health many says ‘ that beats your health agendas. So I guess stay away from beetles but stay close to the beatles – no issues. If anyone wishes to stay away from beetle leaf agendas ‘why welcome we should not welcome things’ – health hazards your day will become not just ‘a day in the life’( written by Lennon- MacCartny) who is your favorite Beatles guy John Lennon ?

last time you wrote me 'I am not the one who selects songs - boru boru' but before that, in one of your previous letters i received on a Tuesday i remember what was there earlier  'my team' selects songs for our 'musical show' so how come this 'my team' exists with out the term 'me and mine or my'.

Just Kidding - i like the song sang by the girl with a very rhythmic dance, name can't remember, educate me next time.

So my darling privacy do not show this letter to ‘their ears are on your doors’ ‘their eyes are on your walls’, ‘going and coming without knocking’ - guys and gals alright.

Ok now you know what this ‘D’ stands for right? Next - Other letters.
A for not angry, attitudes or agendas it is for ‘Andare’. This ‘Andare’ was a character from our ‘past’ ‘andare merune neha’………… there is a good song I can’t remember the rest of the words of the song.

Have you heard about this character before he was a very good friend of ‘Raaja Sabhawa’ ‘an entertainer’ – not trained by any company or institution he was a self trained entertainer I do not know how much he was get paid those days also he was very fond of eating ‘seeni’ (sugar). So this sugar character I love so much I think he is so sweet in ‘old Folk talks, folklores’.   You have only heard about Andrew’s, and Andria’s,no you know no ‘Andare’ I know.

I for not idiot, or idly it is for ‘Ipalogama’ – one of the good provincial councils of Anuradhapura District’. Ipal is generally the little, little dried parts of tiny, tiny plants good for fire wood just to start a fire but not for long lasting ‘fire’ for that you need to find some kele dara – dara is not karadara ( Hazards) it is fire wood. But if you cut down any trees for dara then you will have to face a lot of karadara in the future. Hey never ever imagine of cutting down any trees – the forestry department might come and arrest you they will come before the department of polite.

We hate ‘niyagaya’ - droughts’ so stop imagine of cutting trees for ‘genuinely carved ‘furniture not even for that. I don’t know what choice we have in manufacturing we love timber work no’ aiyooo I am really confused what are the alternatives we have darling privacy? Plastics, polythine, plaster paris, have you heard about of any innovations of ‘clay chairs or clay tables’, tell me one thing that you think is good for our soil?

S for not sad, Santiago, San Francisco, sandals or sand it is ‘for ‘samayen sapiri ‘Samanthurei’ if you are familiar with ‘Ampara’ no difficult you will know A – Z of Samanthurei go to Wikipedia and get the name of the ‘Divisional secretary’ and ask any queries you have in your mind. Data available no there? I could not check yet ‘welvetithurei and kankasanthurei, kalmunei ‘visit my next plan’ ‘what is your next visit plan’?

Y for not for yummy or yam it is for ‘yield’ if you get no yield you find no yummy yam in your plate. Obviously no?

So privacy thanks for the letter last week - you sent ‘I think you are right’ ‘I think I should keep that in mind’ ‘I think I should better prepare for my exam –forth coming than watching movies, toooo much.

How are things at your private limited?

‘Do not limit’ your work to few ‘limited things’, explore - more. I know that you know what limit I have in ‘my home limited’

I generally visit your privately maintained blog – just want to check the address again

I don’t have to remind you why all these privately maintained companies and why they name their companies and write at the end of their name of the company the following word -‘Private limited’

They don’t write or name their companies I have never heard – ‘public limited’ ‘have you”? This public limited’s are unlimited to their clients or dealers, customers or anyone expects their services. Me wrong - correct me. I know I know when it comes to providing services any private or public spheres can’t think of these two words they know what their trusted ones want or expect these both ‘private and public’ friends ‘ a better service’- what else they want?

Who named you this way ‘my friend’ – ‘Privacy?’ Privacy is your first name no what is your parampara name?  ‘Nidahas wanshaya aarachchilage’ Privacy do you have any other names after ‘Privacy’?

Ok I am going to windup this mine ‘privately wrote letter’ so try and read this very privately ok?

Have a privacyful day darling.

Also

Good day!

 - yours Daisy

my views on SHORTCUTS' ................................

Shortcuts

I know that nothing is impossible but some of the things in this commercialized, difficult but unpredictable, uneven world not so easy to achieve.  Some say that there are easiest ways to achieve some of the things that you like. ‘Shortcuts’ is a commonly used word among every generation or every group of people and it is an interesting thing to review or preview or to analyze and apply it to the various things we know and to the things related to our life.  I believe that there are no shortcuts to certain things in this world.

There are no shortcuts to education. It is always wiser to get a thorough understanding/deeper knowledge on anything that you prefer to study that is useful and essential.

What ever you study or learn, in any moment, any occasion you may have to deal with human mind or body. Especially if you are dealing with human mind and body it is no joke ‘you can’t learn half or quarter of something but try and get the fullest or a complete ‘understanding that will lead to maximum positive, good better results and a broader picture  will not keep any gaps or doubts in any of the things.

Do you think that ‘shortcuts’ are safer?  It is sometimes easy if you take the longer path than taking the shortcuts. Sometimes I feel shortcuts are not safer compared to the longer path you take. Shortcuts are full of unknown things and the path is not cleared sometimes.  Sometimes some shortcuts are familiar and some are unfamiliar to most of us I like to think. It is always good to have a proper ‘road map’ if you are not so sure about the path you are willing to take.

Short cuts will end your journey within a shorter period of time the things that you may expect to see while walking or the things that you may need to capture is limited if you take a shorten way to reach to your choice of destination.

Some of our youngsters think that’ cigarettes’, alcohol, dangerous drugs, are very easiest ways to find happiness or at the same time some believe that those things are few  assured ways to reach to the ‘heaven’. But according to the realities that I experienced personally though I am no alcoholic or drug addict I can assure you
You can easily reach to the ‘hell’ for sure if you follow such a way to gain happiness I am not the only one who say these things the ‘doctors’ or the people who have the thorough understanding of those things, I am sure they agree with me.

Some shorts cuts leads you to not towards a successful or fruitful life but those things will ruin your life.

My father was a very strong smoker he had to end his life in a very sorrowful way – he was suffering from lung cancer. I do not have to explain the results of such things. Those things are death ways if one chose to walk along such a way a very smoky ‘cigarettes way’ - no way you can think of a healthy life.

Do you think that we can find shortcuts to the ‘death’ the never changing truth?  Yes I guess it is possible. But is it a wiser decision to take a shortcut to the death. I have heard people say and I know that ‘death’ has different facets compared to many other things in the world. ‘Death’ comes to you in many different ways and you never know about the path that you will have to choose. Things that you believe about ‘death’ or any other things perhaps have many things to do with your beliefs I believe or else the ‘religion’ you know or have learnt.

‘Committing suicide’ is not a strange term. I have no rights to say anything about these things but I personally believe that these things are unpredictable also how can we say that the victims do not like to live? For some I know a ‘moment’ of living has immeasurable value than anything else. These are very sensitive issue and it is not easy to make comment on these things. Some think committing suicide is a short cut way to find a solution/s to the issue/s that one faces.

Some shortcut s gives you troubles just imagine if you do not like to choose the pedestrian crossing to cross the road and just cross the road from anywhere you like you will have to face unexpected problems may be you will have to compensate from your life for doing so. So such shortcuts only gives you troubles nothing else. There are many ways to cross a river I guess you can use the ‘bridge’ or can swim across or else can take a boat ride. What is safer or convenient you will have to decide?

There are no shortcuts to understand the ‘life’. I do not think that I have lived enough to understand the ‘realities’, the miraculous, sometimes unbelievable but beautiful ‘human mind’.

I know no short cuts to understand or read human mind. I do not know even a longer way will give you enough of space to understand or read human mind -fullest way.

You can say many things just by touching the surface of something, or seeing things from outside but if you can touch the deeper layer of something you will get completely a different picture of that particular thing. This reality will not only applicable to the materials or non human things it is applicable to people’s behavioral patterns or to understand the human mind.  If you select the shortcuts to understand ones mind you will never ever succeed it is wiser to take the longer path and try touching the deeper layer of the mind to get an accurate picture. There are no shortcuts to understand the human mind I like to believe. If you know how to touch a back -end of a human mind you will realize how difficult or how foolish it is to try an understand things just looking at something from an external angle.

You can get relevant guidance or support about the path you have chosen. There are people who are willing to help any of the ways you choose. Some give you the advise to live and some gives you the advises to die.  You have to have a clear and conscious mind to select what is best for you.

Have you heard of any shortcuts to understand the things that are very far or distance from your reach?

Some think that there are some easiest ways or shortcuts to earn a living. Killing, smuggling, etc but I know nothing about ‘life time’ of all these ways of earning.

There are no shortcuts to heaven or to Nibbana we all know that. There is a saying,

‘upan daa sita karapu paw netha warak wendoth kelaniye

When I was a small child I did not fully understand that phrase. I thought I will have a good life just by worshipping the kelaniya temple just for once. But later I realize the real meaning of the phrase; ‘warak’ is I guess hundred times (?) not just once. Not easy. I will have to worship ninety five more times to achieve what I want. But I should not think that by worshipping the Kelaniya the historical, the soil that got the touch of the Lord Buddha I will get the chance to reach to the heaven. I have a long way to go

But if you have the ‘confidence’ choosing the shortcuts and if you believe that the path you have chosen is safer I do not think that there will be any harm. These are my personal views about ‘shortcuts’ and also about other things that I m trying to reveal here the experts may have analyzed the things differently to what I m believing or they may have the wiser plans or the more accurate or the practical ideas about these things.

Longer ways are tired full ways, these things check or test your patience. But longer ways may keep you away from many hazards known, unknown, or unexpected.

But let me stop this note noting one lesson we have learnt from our past there is a saying I hope you all remember it ‘parangiya kotte giyaa wage’- if you do not know the path that you may planning to take others may take you from a their preferred way not good for your wallet may be or that may not good for your good name.

There is a saying have you heard about this before ‘ samaharu apiwa rawume gannawa’ some take you via rounds and rounds puzzling  not only your brain but also your mind.  Some rounds are very costly you may have to pay in money sometimes or in goods it depends on many different things actually.
Do not misunderstand me every thing we discuss not applicable to each and everyone of this universe. This is an uneven world full of different people with different attitudes, mind settings or cultural settings political and apolitical.

If you do not know the correct way to the house of ‘Sybil Wettasinghe’ a three wheeler friend may take you to her place in a bit of a ‘longer way’ – these ways are very expensive. This is not applicable to all our three wheeler friends.

Correct or an accurate way is not always the longer way. There are middle ways also how can we forget that. ‘Maddhayama Prathipadawa’.

Dena giyoth kataragama nodena giyoth atharamaga’ – if you choose a way knowing it better you will face no or less problems. If you know the way to Kataragama then you do not have to seek for a guide or ask from somebody. But if you do not know the way to this scared area you have to ask, get help or else you may lose amongst the people and amongst the lanes and sub lanes, all other ways.

What ever way you may choose it is always wiser to study the path or start walking along it knowing it better. The junctions, bends, round the about s, walk ways, gravel roads, tar roads, concreted ways, the land marks, things you meet or may encounter along the walk ways.  I sometimes think that a ‘mind map with a little bit of brain touch’ is the best map for you to draw things and keep it safe and take it out  when travelling the longest journey, never ending journey until you reach the final destination. It is good to have your own drawn map ready to use when necessary or when appropriate. Sometimes we get chances to compare our road maps with the maps that others are drawn for others to use.

Everyone is got a map in their mind or in their hearts and a way to go, to reach their preferred destination only difference is some maps are invisible and some are visible or known to everyone.

Hanguranketha Wasantha

‘Hanguranketha wasantha’

Wasantha is not a strange name for our country people. I like to mention few of the names that touched my memory line this morning and I like to paint their names on this page mine with a standing ovation I hear from else where or from somewhere close to people’s hearts and minds across our country plus millions of salutations ‘Wasantha Karannagoda’, and let me invite some other well known wasantha’s by now Wasantha Kumara Kobawaka, Wasantha Dukganna raala, Wasantha Wittachchi to join them and also all the non popular wasantha’s of this soil known to us, not known to us, have met before, have seated together for some time some distance before finishing their targeted destinations when travelling by bus, have shared few word when doing here and there of shopping, marketing, learning, talking, discussing with ‘met for few minutes’, chatting for some minutes – human, reading for a lot hours, watching for may be for two and half hours or bit more than that ‘creations of wasantha’s and their contributions to this and that or something of some group.

What I am trying to say here is that ‘people help us in many different ways , some help us directly some help us indirectly or some things are accidental not pre planed or pro planed. They fill our brain territories sometimes uninvitingly with immeasurable uncountable or un-weighable things of this universe.

there are people that we meet face to face and some names we have heard about before and all of them the wasantha’s of this our little universe ‘our country’ known to us or not known to us ‘may have contributed to sharpen our inner or outer shapes of our minds and brains yes may be even our hearts.

This particular Wasantha I met few days back 31st October 2012 in a bit early morning

Let me stop here for a while before I go in to the territories of Wasantha that I met couple of days a go near a chena of his sweat and love.

Chena cultivation is no strange way of cultivating or bringing home some elawalu veggies, badainguru, miris, of their choice or preferred the season of not getting much rain season (yala),required no big quantities of water-

This different to Maha season - ‘Yala’  loves this type of farmer touch giving a little break for paddy until they recover from long and tired playing for some times with refuse to listen to the commands of the goviya – surfaces due to various other external reasons. If one delays or ignore the  right season right moment the next moment of cultivating something - unpredictable ( general life rules)

Today 3rd November 2012 I was channeling early musicians via fm channels mainly to check the new frequencies of right channeling  whether they still holder the same name on I named them on my phone screen. have they changed point 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, fm’s starting from I do not know is it starting with 90 point I am not sure about these things.

Ok that is not my main task today. So after hearing so many songs and gatha early morning to boost my mind not actually a bit but little bit more than a bit. I stopped a little near fm derana. I heard the voice of one of the ‘deputy ministers I guess – Education (?) was sharing his thoughts and they were on air and came and met with our thoughts this morning.

Bana kiyanakota balaya gena amathaka wenawa
Balaya thiyanakota bana amathaka wenawa’
(I can’t remember the exact wording now this morning but I am sure about the idea please do correct me if I have noted what was aired at that moment in a wrong way?)

Why do we need to hear or preach bana. I thought. Why we need a bit of advises from others that was my second thought of the day. Why we forget bana when we get the balaya and why can’t we go hand in hand with balaya and bana’. Is it difficult for these two friends balaya and bana to sustain as good friends?
Bana and power both ‘powerful’ but I like to think how about using power in a dhamma way.

And If one can give this powerful ‘power’ a meaningful, useful, shape and a worldful size – then all our hearts and minds will be full and this will fulfill all our beautiful gorgeous - full rightful people’s hopes-full, aims - full minds ‘a complete-full living’ as well.
You read me correct.

I know I know that is a ridiculous idea coz these two things are my goodness totally different features. I do not think that even the Buddha saasana amathi can ‘use his power in dhamma way. DIFFICULT. If we encounter or come across that a person may be this not particularly so called ‘powerful’ even an ordinary  person is doing some wrong to some people or a group ‘we forget our bana then we think of acting in a human way. THAT IS BAD I know that too. ‘human are full of both good and bad I do not know in what quantitative. I do not think that we hold exactly 50% good or 50% bad. If I think of that way I guess I am bad. There are times that we are 100 or little less GOOD there are times that behave in a bad way in same quantity.

Ok those above mentioned are some additional stuff I thought of ‘all right to discuss’ and no harm to discuss in between the meeting with Hanguranketha wasantha.

May be it is good to think and tally the findings of this my visit to kelediwul weva with the idea of deputy minister I thought. I leave that to you. May be there are things or different sides of life or agriculture that we think and analyze with the words heard, after may be reading the ‘complete package of in complete my – this writing that not methodically noted here but bit and pieces from here and there.
Ok today’s topic is not about  who we meet or what we learn from the people we meet preplanned or post planned in particular or what is good or bad today my hero is ‘ Hanguranketha Wasantha’. A farmer, a FO (farmer organization) leader – deputy president of Farmer Organization ‘Kelediwul weva’.

Kele diwul weva (the tank) looks so beautiful and clean compared with my previous visit. One thing I noticed this time of my visit of kelediwul weva is that ‘all the pan gas tika have gone’ but that is alright. I thought.

The village looked so spacious I felt a little jealous.

What is important to note here is that there was a very clearer tank before my eye site. If you have any plans to visit this not looked old but a bit moderate village with permanent building structures ( houses)  with a healthy home gardens and yes rarely you will find ‘houses look not so new or moderate’, half built houses, some houses under construction, I guess it is good if you stay there for few days because there is a lot to capture not specifically the outer look of the village but ‘the inner shapes of people’s hearts and minds’
You will feel so relaxed there, I am sure.

I was happy to see that ‘this particular weva - ‘Kelediwulweva’ is one of the ‘project aimed’ village tanks that were in the process of clearing & improving ‘the tanks of the country’.  According to the few villagers I met there near weva the project has finished clearing the kuda weva area mid last month (October – 2012). Maha weva area of the same weva – kele diwul weva still to be finished (?) I thought because there were some japan jabara to be seen close to the tank bunts.

The kuda weva and the maha weva – Kele diwul weva has become two separated sections allowing a little road lead towards a village ‘Kumbuk enda’

I saw a line of trees so huge, trees with so huge – reminding me of a ‘better roof’ like branches stand firm marking the village territories  of kumbukenda’. I am thinking ‘don’t know whether they are ‘kumbuk’, the very famous and, popular generally among villagers.
According to Mr G.K. Gunasena a born villager, farmer this weva was built in 1818.

We were planning to meet him on our way back to loku maama’s house but when we go there it was too dark and ‘ we thought that al;l were watching tv we heard some noises within we returned without meeting him. We missed good, I believe very good history of this village and about tank. I can wait I will go and meet him next time- that can be a well planned visit than this time.

This weva contains three maalu walawal – tank fish territories (farm?) yet to be promoted up to a certain levels to improve the ‘tank fish industry’ one lady educated me, pardon me I could not ask her good name who seemed to me similar to the age of my grand mother she was plucking some palaa -mugunuwenna ( green leaves) not for dinner but for a meal next day along the bunts and little inside of the allocated area for maalu.

This wasantha is different. He was from Hanguranketha area he came and settled here in this area after marrying his beloved.
I was planning to go and have a look at the new look of the chena of my loku maama (my uncle) I met this very famous amongst the people of his village – as Hanguranketha Wasantha on my way to my uncle’s  chena. I was not successful in locating my uncle’s  chena accurately because I went a lone and for me all the chena and paddy lands looked so alike Finally I end up meeting Hanguranketha wasantha  that was not pre planned meeting. Sad.

‘Hanguranketha wasantha’ that was how he introduced himself to me after few seconds of chatting and sharing a bit of aagiya thirathuru  with a long stayed smile .

I was a little stranger to the area and I can’t remember meeting him before. That was a very fruitful meeting. Though he has not cultivated any fruits except one amberella – a different variety of this type of fruit and this variety generally does not keep you waiting for that long to give a few numbers of  fruits this variety assure you of some fruits within a shorter period of time than a normal variety that we are very familiar with.

He has cultivated ‘ladies fingers’.

He was nicely packing a gunny bag full of his harvest thinking of sending them to ‘Dambulu’ (Dambulla) when we meet. A tractor was there waiting to welcome the plucked harvest with the very much used to this kind – work fingers of ladies (friends)

The ladies fingers looked so fresh and green – looked un harmed.
It was slightly raining

So fresh and new – the whole package of surrounding.

The path towards their hearted territories was so calm and relaxed.
Samanalayan ran ran (the groups of butterflies) and some alone flies here and there asking me ‘hey this is our territory what are you doing here – you stranger?”

None of them were bothered to listen to my answers – they were so busy enjoying the grass touched soils stop a while there close to Kalu maama’s kumbura (paddy land). Allocated territories of water ways named as ‘FC’ s and MC’s I thought they have captured the little area between the path to chena and the paddy lands yet to kiss the ‘experience full of knowledge of govi mahatha -soora goviya ( clever farmers) the next season, awaiting to arrive soon after the mahaweli issues the water for cultivation. There is a little issue in issuing water for this part of area due to lack of visits of wessa (rain) to the kala weva area.

But before all these ‘water has to be issued before the right season for paddy disappears’ -the farmers including my uncle have to clean the bunts/fields of paddy lands ( canals) and they have to go and particular and relevant authorities the news of finished clearing the canal bunts and outer surfaces. That is the general rule.

Hanguranketha wasantha was not alone he was given all the necessary support by his and his beloved’s friend’s -ladies in plucking ‘ladies fingers’ Samantha nenda, Nimmi, Shantha. They were paid half - day basis ‘Rs 300/=. The little equipment – very sharp very handy little knives were so useful I noticed.

2.5 acres of land is allocated for any type cultivating but mainly ‘for paddy cultivation’.

Hanguranketha wassantha is so used to different types of cultivation not only Paddy before he permanently reside in this soil of kele diwulweva. According to his own introduction he was the person who started introducing different crop cultivation not just sticking to paddy cultivation this was useful when they have sudden changes of weather or when they get not sufficient wesi wathura (rain water) the good income crops - commercial like chili, veggies like ‘mekaral’, beans, etc. was so welcomed by this soil of kelediwul weva but since about 20 years or so they have stopped cultivating chilies (?) or it is only a little that they cultivate chili. May be ‘these other commercial crops have given them some assurance of ‘some good income’. That is the reason I believe.

For beautiful ladies fingers – you just have to wait 40 odd days to get the harvest.
For 1 acre of land of cultivating ladies fingers - this looked so fresh ladies fingers you just need 1 kg of seed – a good quality, a better variety.
Why depend on seeds of others – companies ‘why can’t you just produce them at your own territories if you sometimes doubt ‘the quality of seeds that you get from the local markets. They were happy about the ‘quality of the seeds that they buy from mahaillupplamma agricultural research centre.

The group of Hanguranketha wasantha were little busy removing the ‘problematic little ladies fingers plants from the cultivated territories because of  ‘they are not aware of the name ‘virus’ – i just videoed a little one of the affected plants but due to my poor technology disabilities of videoing i don't think that you can watch it. ( i failed to add the clip)

have a look at this caption i guess it provides some evidence of this issue that the farmer faces these days.

Hanguranketha wasantha is a well equipped farmer he is very knowledgeable, the ways of explaining things I like a lot but before all his ‘relax explanation I had to tell him why I asked these things and I had to show him my identity in words way not the card by answering his some questions a little. Politically he was a little distanced with the current agendas and ideologies I thought. He was little un-relaxed to express his true feelings. But become relaxed when the time flies without indicating or giving any pre notices from the area we were discussing. No this I note in general and for me there was nothing major for him to say about ‘current realities of societical and political.  He is a part of long historical political agendas of ours gone and changed over time and there is some still stagnant in the hearts and minds of people. We know that there were time that none can express their true feelings towards something if they do so their body parts were seen on the bunts and bends of some places of different areas. People can not forget things easily I thought.  How good it is if we can be a political all day long.

We had to stop our conversation a bit wessa was listening to all these our conversations his way. You should not have asked that question from him lady, I sensed wessa was muttering to my ears listeing to some of the questions I asked from Hanguranketha wasantha I felt but again once asked or told something difficult to changed. I thought. I was questioning him disturbing his work.

Ms Wasantha (pardon me I can’t remember his wife’s name at this moment) and I just shared some other information while she was settle for few minutes under a toned ‘banana leaf’ to cover her self for a while.

I said

Gaha yata wehi dekailune’

She smiled

She said about rupees 80 000 is required to cultivate the whole 2.5 they have – paddy. The majority they spent on harvesting for the tractor cost. ( roughly about 25 000)

Please do not forget that this information is not adequate to come to conclusions or get a very accurate or 100 clear picture of discussed things. I am sure you all understand this. I just talked to one person – Hanguranketha wasantha.

He did not mention anything about ‘govi niyan sahanadara’ the govt has promised the farmers to bare half of the total cost of -‘harvesting (the tractor fee)’ to compensate for what was lost during the drought. To get the sahanaya they will have to wait until the next season comes.  they can expect to gain about 10 000/= from the government (according to my uncle the total tractor cost is about 20 000 for 2.5 acre of paddy) they are looking forward to the promise – the next harvesting season is yet to arrive.

I saw some rays of hopes in the eyes of my cousin and my uncle even during dark while watching TV, the Korean drama – ahinsakawi ( a Korean production telecast by the national television corporation) all the kids and adults were around and before TV – on the floor.
Let me go back to Hanguranketha Wasantha and to his chena. A thambili tree looked ill – seemed to me suffering from a normal health issues, general kinds that can be treated totally for sure if get advises from the officers the experts.

the thambilee – immature ones looked paled shown some issues from the outer appearance this is a problem. I asked he said yes.
I am telling you all these because there is a need of a at least frequently visit ‘Agricultural officer’ – RO‘s (?) or DO’s (district officers) wasantha says that DO’s are every knowledgeable it is good if they visit them on the fields.

They can share ‘knowledge can have answers for their minor or major agricultural issues that they face sometimes depending on seasons. The issues seemed seasonal or differ from their approaches of cultivating also depending on the varieties of crops they cultivate.
According to Wasantha they generally collate 300 rupees each season for the maintenance of the canal system from each farmer/member of farmer organization. 10 rupees in addition to that as membership fees and none can withdrew money from the farmer organization account/bank all three top authorities of the farmer organizations have to appear in the bank before the process and has to sign before the authorities – bank. ( the president, the vise president, the treasurer) they have to withdrew money only to pay the payments of the contractors – who cleans the canal bunts.

The estimation generally done by the Mahaweli he said. Then they know how much they have to withdrew. I am sure that if they have the skills within the FO they can save a lot of money within. Then they do not have to touch the money they collate from FO members or save them at the bank.

If any RO s or DO s have any plans to visit his chena by any chance I can tell you the way. If you are coming from kekirawa area get down from samanala ladaru pasala ( pre – school) and walk or ride along the road adjoining to the pera paasala I guess generally the RO s and DO s have their own ways of visiting the fields they are responsible in visiting.(?) do you ride ? Or do you walk? No matter either way is possible.
I am not good in calculating kilo meters or even in miles but I can assure you that you have to walk at least a 01 km from the main road ( THalawa paara Anuradhapura) to eye capture the chenaa of Wasantha’s B.E perera’s, or Kalu Maama’s.

Walked a lot stopped a bit near FC ( field canal)12

You will meet another MC (?) – Main Canal right next to road bend close to the territory of chena of Hanguranketha wasantha  you may meet him there it is not that difficult to find his chena. Some coconut trees are supporting him standing as fence.

Hanguranketha Wasantha currently lives close to galkanda
potthegama paasala (school) with their neighbours who always come and help in labour sharing matters.

I missed his given me appointment to discuss further many things due to some distance issue of reaching his home after dark. There is always a next time.

Let me windup my this incomplete bits and pieces from here and there hoping to meet you my friends with some more news and information in the near future, may be tomorrow or day after tomorrow who knows – unpredictable this life sometimes that we live and exist in this world.

Anton sir is teaching his kids ‘development of human solidarity’ – a good subject to touch the hearts of our children. No doubt.
