The Boxes and the Boxers

There are world famous boxers and there were many in the history of sports who became worldly popular because of boxing. Boxing plays in a box kind of an area allocated for the game in a ring. There many things that one can talk about the game - boxing and about the players who is involved in the game called ‘boxing’ that is historically old as a game.

Mike Tison comes in to my mind when talk of the game but very before that the dual; father and the daughter comes in to my mind because this man is known as a remarkable sports man in the world of boxing, ‘Mr.  Ali’, a legendary character / sportsman who died as a result of health condition Parkinson. I think that he gained such a latter stage life because of the nature of the game- boxing. I think if the game is between highly qualified sports man ‘ defending is no easy’ because it is highly depend on physical strength though ‘mentally’ the sports man had to be very fit and stable before his opposition player. Though in this games safety measures are used ‘the rate of facing accidents is not less according to my personal knowledge. Eyes could be damaged, teeth, internal bleeding is quite possible that may happen due to fighting as a game.

Muhammad Ali -Muhammad Ali is an American former professional boxer, generally considered among the greatest heavyweights in the sport's history (Wikipedia)

And his stunning daughter Laila Ali followed her father’s footsteps and entered in to the game, sports became sports star. I guess she entered in to this field for nothing else but to honor father.

People have ways of wining what they want, in sports, in life but the strategies that each and every man or person uses are different or unique to each other. They are no possible to photocopy or no photo copiable.

Often, I meet people who live a boxed life, that is when considering their ‘thinking with regard to many aspects of life’, perceptions, attitudes, day today life etc. I think there are many things that can be done to reduce the gaps and move out with the outside world in a more useful manner. Associate with more profitable people. I very purposely used the word ‘profitable’ because no association is worth when there are no fruitful discussions enclosed.

So to come out of caged or boxed life a person has to strategically change the life patterns as well as the way that one thinks of the things of ‘life’ and living.
Just imagine the people who live a cagely life no difference to the people who live a boxed life. I just used two different sentences with two different wordings that’s all. Caged and boxed; what difference that one can enhance before others or show to the outside world as differences of these two words, boxed and caged.

Coffin is not a pleasing word that many like to hear, like ‘flowers, mountains, ice bergs, or travel destinations but coffin is an unavoidable word in this universe we live because every born goes back to their existed place or to their pre planned, pre destined or to an entirely unknown place mostly lying in a coffin.  According to Buddhism we recognize it as ‘Karma’. That is how the re- birth takes place or how the final journey/s is /are planned.  Some I know often misunderstand this term ‘Karma’ it is not referring to ‘Bad’ (Karma)’ in its vast meaning it includes both results or meaning.

So…………

In the farewell journey of a person; that requires no Visas approvals or applications, or the in the final journey plans, no officer would question the person on any details; embarkation, passports details, qualifications for PRA or what so ever details.
When everything is sett for the journey normally who ever dear or near plans the other things the traveler does not have to worry about planning the journey specifically, the mode of travelling though according to Buddhism every thing is planned, again as a result of ;how we live’, what we did.

The traveler who travels on a box called ‘coffin’ gets no chances to choose the type or the design of this box – coffin before the departure. But it is not impossible to do so in this nothing is impossible world.

I know that it is not fare to say that every one uses a coffin as a mode of travel because I know religiously some avoid using a coffin on the day of their farewell journey. Coffin is not something compulsory by the way.

Coffin making is a business that brings good money though the income is irregular , unpredictable due to many reasons such as if you live in a country where many die or the mortality rate is high due to disputes, wars, lack of poor health facilities, lack of knowledge on right living, the smoking or drug abuse rate is high, lack of peace and harmony in the areas of inner lanes of human beings, (mentally disturbed) reason for this can be various or discussable. That is a possible thing in this complex world we live.

Coffined life; though you give various names for various things often I feel that there is no much difference when it comes to its meaning though the uses are different in its literal senses.

I watched a movie yesterday. It was named as ‘the Lunch Box’. Starring, Irrfan Khan and beautiful Nimrat Kaur. It is cinematographically a good effort. And I like the subject that it discusses through its creation. The media, the symbols, the characters that the creators had used to discuss inner troubles of a man and a woman of this big complex society we live, is appreciatable.

So in this movie………

The man and the woman are unknown to each other. And in this film, the creator discusses a life of an ordinary married woman in a different way. One of the strategies that he (the creator) had used is a letter kept in a lunch box, hiding secretly (?)Amongst the food items cooked.

Further …………

Originally, it was a mistake that a lunch, prepared by this house wife in this movie, reached a wrong man, mistakenly. Because the lunch was delivered by a different agent, a labourer (hope the term I used is right). Ethically it should reach her husband who had very less moments to spend with his wife according to my judgment, who was eagerly trying to get his attention cooking various food items, getting help from an un shown (in the movie) lady -neighbourer.

She did every possible thing to prepare what he like but when he returned back home after work, where his wife is waiting to get some response about her meal preparations finally earns disappointments other than ‘bohoth achcha’.

So she finds an opportunity to communicate unethically with a man, who mistakenly or what so ever way, gets what she prepares and in return, the empty box with a comment. Emotionally she gets chances to discuss what she had to say or have not got any chances to discuss with her husband earlier or ‘what troubles she goes through in her married life I do not know perhaps ‘common to many married women’. So with this man, through letters she exchanged what she thinks and this unknown man writes back to her with a little description of happenings in day to day life of a busy town. She enjoys what he wrote to her. I think for a lonely house wife that meant a lot.

I am thinking right now, about the neglected wives of this universe we live, due to what so ever, various reasons.  I do not like to give any fairness to any of such actions of any man – married who neglects their wives giving any many reasons to justify their actions, alienating their wives from their personal life spheres.
I am not going to universalize or apply it to each and every inch of this society we live because practically it is not justifiable to each and every family of this world. What I am trying to say here is, I know that there are many incidents like this happening around the globe. It is specifically a terrible issue for a wife who does not have much chance to deal with outside world sticking her life only to take care of her family. But it is similarly important for any wife who is neglected by any man due to what so ever reasons.

Mentally it affects the whole family unit and the sustainability of the unit and to the bond of the married, the man and the wife.

Though this essay may looks like a mixed soup because of the things I talk of, boxers, lunch boxes, and coffins but I guess everything is somehow inter linked nobody can separate any of the things we discusses though this looks like a messy essay.

Every single thing that is happening in this world is interrelated and inter connected if you think a while.

Behind every incident there is a reason. For example, behind every pre – mature or
immature death, or any health hazard etc there are reasons. No fruit can be seen without a reason. Fruit here according to Buddhism, is referring to ‘result/s’ of something.

Let me try to link what I just discuss in the earlier chapter trying to link with the characters and incidents in the movie ‘The Lunch Box’.

At the beginning, the house wife who sends what she prepares to a wrong person somehow continuously happening, exchanging letters between two. Let me think of reasons for her to continue sending letters and lunch though she gets to know that she is sending the lunch to a wrong person. I assume that she is a neglected wife it is very clearly shown in the movie and did not have any person to communicate with other than her neighbor and her child. The results is unacceptable and unethical though it is human, this wife continuously sending lunch and letters to this unknown man because of his replies and interests shown towards what she prepares, cooks and sends. How he appreciated what she cooked. That is just a small example that I took from the movie though it is highly a vast subject to discuss in every aspect of life.

Cheering !!!!!!!!!!! For testing TESTS ......................

These days are tests days. Some are on vacation after tests – terms. They are school children.  Tests; this universe is full of tests, various, aspects, subjects, concepts, theories etc.  Some tests some.

These ‘tests’ that I like to talk about today is a part of big matches and has become part of human interests and agendas, since many , many years , decades.

I do not know ‘why’ the English thought of such game of such style to initiate at the beginning. There must be a reason though I am unaware it. I have to read the book of Cricket to understand such facets and sides of cricket – history.

Perhaps ………………

There were some of the following in their minds and plans at the beginning, let me assume, to test the patience, to test the strengths of their people, to spend their time – leisure, on something ‘interesting and learnable, to learn about ‘challenges’, how to defeat a team, how to give other sides / teams and aim or a target to win, achievable or unachievable. I do not know what was on their mind if the above mentioned were none of the reasons.

Anyways ………………..

The tests – the matches apart from other tests exiting in this universe to test this and that of standards or levels of people, of human minds, these matches – tests, brings loads of things in to the hearts and minds of sports lovers, not only in to the people who watch matches sitting on the pavilion of the Macca of Cricket, The Lords ground. (Thank you Herman Perera sir for refreshing my mind on this and I hope that I have narrated it right.)

In Galle ……………… (International cricket ground)

The two countries are playing one of the matches scheduled and if my memory is accurate by around 5 .00 pm Sri Lanka has scored around 80+ for one wicket.

The tests matches are different to one day matches or to the matches 50 over or 20 over matches.

Oh! I forgot to mention the two countries; the match is between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. I think the Pakistani Team had batted well and scored more than 400.
Some people show much interest towards one day matches than the test matches.

Innings ……………….

Innings are important in these matches and every inning is important for both sides that play this type of matches. The player has to maintain his patience until the match over though they have to play many over/s compared to the limited over matches.  Some players become steady and stable throughout the inning or innings.

The scores ……………….

Other than if the player is capable enough to play faster in the limited over matches there are many chances for a player to earn more than a century in these matches. The scores of the team and the scores of the personal score lanes of individual player or each and every player shows the abilities of the team and individual performances of each the player, as a whole and specialties in scoring days long matches. The test matches.

After all ……………..

The result of any match shows the levels of team efforts

The Pavilions are for match lovers.  They can watch their matches while eating a piece of cake or slice of sandwich of their choices. But they should not forget the matches on going in the ground though none of us should forget the real matches of real lives of our day to day dealings.

Regulations ………………

Cricket is one of the games that players within a certain frame work of rules and regulations like in any other matches or games.

 Records ………………….

Sir Garfield or Mr. S. Gavaskar , S. Jayasuriya, Mahela or Mahanama, Wettamuni all these gentlemen,  I am not aware of all the records they hold all I know is the names of these gentlemen crafted their names in the hearts and minds of people, the sport fans of now and then. That it self is a record.  Who ever does justice to the game they play is a winner.

What ever the match matches with people’s interests and desires helps the game to sustain not only in the hearts and minds of people but also as a game of the universe.

Our Mahela

Our Mahela Jayawardena has decided to retire from the test matches after this series though it’s a sad decision I WISH HIM ALL THE BEST AND THANK YOU, CONGRATULATIONS! MAHELA JAYAWARDENA FOR YOUR UNSPOILED PLAY OF TEST MATCH CARRIER RECORDS, RECORDED AND SEALED IN THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF THE CRICKET LOVERS OF THIS UNIVERSE

Though …………..
The matches are limited because cricket matches are not the only matches that are playing in the grounds of this universe we live.

Unlimited ……………
There are many things that we can discuss about matches – tests, about cricket as a sports activity, grounds of plays, the commentaries, how to forget the FANS, the SCORE BOARD ………………

The book of Cricket, the chapters …………..
Let me narrate a another chapter on some other day because I do not think that I discuss everything or many things about the test matches but bit and pieces from here and there

I am a fan …………….

I am not an expert of cricket. I am a fan of cricket. So these are some ideas of a fan, do not forget it.

Thank you for reading ……………………..

Amazing HORSES

Style and speed is what I like about horses. I think the horses are very amazing intelligent animals compared to the other animals, domestic or that the human are very closely associating with. One of the expensive animals I guess is the horses compared to the innocent bulls or cows or aggressive tigers and lions or adjustable camels, incredible cheetahs.

Northern Dancer , storm cat , the green monkey saw these amazing talents showing their full scholars on grounds through internet. I wanted to know few names of the female sports stars who does horse racing so they appear before me under the tag of ‘Famous female jockeys’ here are few of them now and then; Anna Lee Aldred, Chantal Sutherland, Clare Balding Emma Jayne Wilson

I love horse riding and actually the style of horse riding.  The games such as horse racing and other sports activities similar gets the attention of most the people around the world. And these are very interesting games. Especially during the Olympic season this particular game gets attention like the running events 100 meters though such events held not just to rate the ‘most fastest man of the earth / universe (Ben Johnson)

I like the style, speed the communication and understanding between the jockey and the animal. I think the horses are ready for any road or path.

Trained horses are different from the wild horses no need to say.

I think when ever you see a smart horse; you can not take your eyes off from them like when you get a chance to view a star of spot light arena. Brown, white and dark you get various skin tones of this animals.  Skin tone is not very much a concernable feature when it comes to horses actually what matters and important is ‘their style and speed’, the uses as well.
I think the horses are one of the privileged animals of this earth. Apart from the myths and folklores, stories related to horses it is interesting to watch the creations, movies, productions based on true stories and fictions, scripted on these animals. Horse carts are one of the very stylish types of passenger carriages of past very before the other technological travels and tours, air buses cars and vans came in to the day to day lives and scenes of peoples.

I think there are horse training centers you can not just play with a horse the way you want, especially when you are planning to ride a horse for a race. Jumping on to a horse or sitting on a horse is not enough to ride a horse. There are techniques to follow.

In the war histories of very past horses are one of the five regiments attached to old days’ war regimes. Hope I am right. Elephants, horses are two of the five I mentioned.

Racecourse Ground Colombo Sri Lanka

The landlords and lords love and respect these animals more than they like and respect their servants or the boys and girls who takes care of horses and their shelters
Nuwara Eliya Racecourse _ Sri Lanka

And unlike the readers who read good English papers there are some good readers I find read and pronounce the names of the horses and the names of the jokeys in a brilliant way.  There are songs written on the subject of horse racing and bookies and people’s lives. How some of these races affects lives of people id debatable.  The hopes and desires that brings via the details sheets of horse racing, horses, jokeys, price moneys in to the life objectives of some people, often spoils their real desires to because some men do not like to do any hard work, earn a living in other ways, other than betting sitting on a chair of a bookie (centre) asking them to write their destiny sheets, without working. Often such brings burdens in to family spheres. Following song says the man who lost in the morning from their betting do the same in the evenings as well. some of them live a dreamy life thinking of the chances winning the first prize and building houses, buying luxury cars etc.  They dream about the bag of prize keeping their desires and hopes of lives on the moving horses, races.

Miniseku pita negi asaruweki
A bara gei wahalata baraki
Paandarin peradunu a miniha hendeweth asu pitata nagee
Heta mama gedarata sura sepa denawa
Ada rae lunu mirisen gathawenawa
Kaasi malla sathekuge pita yanawa
Du daruwan pedure nidiyanawa
 Iranam wisanduma sathekuta denawa
Thirisenekuta minisekeu paradinawa
Daruwanmirindath gini uhulanawa
Heeen numbathawa gewal hadanawa

Games become famous because of the players and because of the people involved. Jockeys and bookies become famous and important because of these animals, Horses and thanks to the people who involved and giving such games a important place in their lives.

Following names I found on internet, Javier Castellano, Joel Rosario, Irad Ortiz, Jr., L. Ortiz, John R. Velazquez, Mike E. Smith, Victor Espinoza, Jose Lezcano, Joseph Talamo, Rosie Napravnik. I have not heard about them before but among the people who know the game they are heroes or they are the ones who bring them bulks of money in their dreams of prizes, because of races, horses.
Betting’, often we see in life dealings but betting is different within the game spheres of horse racing.  For any game, a ground is important. Without a ground no out door games can be played. For cricket you need a ground which is suitable for a game - cricket. You can not play cricket where the ground is set for football, similarly you can not race your horses in a cricket ground. Grounds are as such. For indoor games the ground you need to play a game is different to the grounds you need to play an indoor game.

Racecourse Hipodromo da Gavea

The ground that is set for horse racing has a name. In English speaking countries the ground is identified or known as ‘racecourses’ and in America the ground become a ‘race track/s’. Following details about a racecourse, I found from the same web page
Hipódromo da Gávea is located in Gávea Neigbourhood, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. According to the same source it has a capacity of 80 000 with 3000 seating facilities and was built in 1926. I guess horse racing is even older than the mentioned year that the ground was built.

Horses were used for hunting in older days of mankind, as a hobby etc.
Interesting part related to horse racing is ‘you do not have to be in the racecourse to bet or to know who is winning. Information flows from the grounds like a jet via various sources.  I have no idea as to who has introduced these games to the people of village, cities or towns of our country all I know is there are bookies not only in towns or cities though the racecourse is available with no horses visible, in rural to urban. I think colonization was undoubtedly the partner of introducing the game in to lives of our people. I do not say that horse racing is something bad, some have mistaken and bet their lives through these games. I can not find a single area where there are no race bookies and race bookies which give their customers various percent discount 10 , 15, 20%. But I have no idea how the deals are functioning within.

Actually those are easy money no sweat is sweated to earn money depending on the money pay to bet they get money in return. If the betted horse wins if not the person looses the money spent for betting.  Some do this as a hobby but wives complains about their husbands who spend the money that has for their other future purposes, for betting their lives on the name of a known or unknown horse

Following song is written to describe such situation and it revels a feeling of a wife of a man who bets on horses though he does not know to read any alphabet but the detail sheet of horses and jockeys. This is one of the oldest songs. This song was sung by late artist Mrs. Malini Bulathsinhala

Mala pothe akuru beha kee miniha
Engeerisi paththarayak mula indala agata balanawa
Aga indala mulata balanawa
Kohen igena gattada manda
Mala pothe bea kee miniha
Man kendan aa dawase kana athsana gehuwa kena
Punchi punchi thundu kalei ekata thiyanawa
Menna bole engireese akuru liyanawa
Paadarama kade gihin gena paththare balala
Muna narak karagena niyapothu kanawa
Kahata koppaya peththaka seethala wenawa

The man who said ‘I know no letters’,
Reading an English paper,
from front to last page,
Last page to front page,
Do not know from where he has learned to read

The man who couldn't signature our life,
The day that we wedded,
Surprising! The man writes letters,
Small, small chits in English

Biting nails with a frustrated face,
Reading the paper bought early in the morning
The morning cup of tea kept on the stool,
Becoming cold

The man who said ‘I know no letters’ …………………

Games often changes lives of people. Riding a horse for a game is different to riding a horse as a hobby. Anyways life is a game and this world we live is full of games and players, grounds, and prize moneys. Choose what is really good for you and better training is essential what ever race or game you play. It is not just a one person who is racing in a competition or in a game when everyone is racing paying less attention to their break pads, tracks the man who is sitting on the ground betting gets better chances to win other than the riders – horse, the jokeys.
Take care riders!

Thank you Sir, Visharadh Edward Jayakodi

Visharadh Edward Jayakodi is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious, brilliant, Artists that the Sri Lankans owns.  His one of the most famous, accredited concerts ‘ Marambari’ was held yesterday ( 29th July, 2014)
at the Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall ( BMICH) at 6.30 pm. The concert was musically directed by the veteran musician Mr. Rohana Weerasigne

Mr. Jayakodi has been performing and contributing his knowledge for the students of all levels and to the Sri Lankan Music field for years

The reason for me to write this THANKING NOTE specifically is , my sister and their friends were given tickets for free to watch the concert and my nangi also got two tickets but unfortunately we were unable to participate due to some practical reasons.

The CART of Good Wills: A Travel partner of history ........................

I know that I am a woman of this 1970 – 2014 era (do not be mistaken I am a survived) yet I love the idea of BULL’s CART in particular. I know that there are several types of carts apart from the Bulls carts, the horse carts including. I am not going to compare the two types of carts and trying to mention the other carts of past or of the medieval periods, especially because the cart to jet there is a huge gap, technologically and even logically. The story of human development or the development of ‘thinking of human being’ is not easily discussable or describable because I am not an expert.

There were periods that people carried people keeping them on a carriage by their shoulders. Some of them were traditional carriages that had something to do with customs and traditions. So let me just peep in to the idea of people carrying people. This people who were known as classely lower than just one particular class compared to the other classes, were the people who carried the people of higher classes on their shoulders, back in the eras of colonial and even since before though they carried forward the this activity of moving ahead on the shoulders of others. While this particular class / caste of people who not as a profession but as a servant of these hierarchical class had to use their full strength to carry forward, pushing forward the class of higher levels got nothing basically in the past. But there were very little that understood ‘the cowardness of moving ahead on the shoulders of other people.  There are only a few who has the ability to use their own strengths and capacities to move ahead in the journeys of their lives.

Though the idea of carts is attractive the cart moves ahead on the shoulders of a couple of bulls or on the shoulders of just a single bull. Especially when the roads were not tared or carpeted or not even properly cleaned gravel roads the hills and mountains were not smoother to passing through. None of the Bathalagala, Haputhale or Kadugannawa, the mountains was easy to climb. Imagine a cart carrying passengers along with their goods.

The bulls cart is much closer to me than the horse carts that I have seen in the motion picture movies, Columbia, Universal picture movie creations. I can memorize of a scene of the LES MISERABLES, the book, the Sinhalese translation that we had to study as our ordinary level for Sinhala, for the literature part. ‘Manuthapaya ‘- the literal meaning of the title is ‘The sorrows of human beings’ or ‘The sufferings of human beings’

I can’t memorize the entire movie called ‘Mathalan’, a movie that has created years back.  But one of the songs of the movie, I still can memorize that is because at least very, very, very often, the FM channels, the radios broadcast the song. I decided to write only the drafted Sinhalese meaning of the song using my unpolished language ability in translate something from Sinhala to English

Hurry up spotted bull ………
                             Without obeying competently,
Giving the newly wedded, some joy
Hurry up spotted bull lets move towards, the house of in laws.
I will give you my dear menika
Some honey+fully riped jack,
Once we return home

Hurry up spotted bull ……………

The speed of cart travels can not be measured in kmph s. the speed of the cart depends on the strength of the animal (bull) and also it depends on the strength and experience of the captain of the cart. The kewita (small stick uses to motivate bulls to paddle the cart faster) good hearted captains do not like to use this kewita because if the captain hits the animal like punishing them it hurts the animal.
People who knew how to make carts, the carpenters were known as ‘rich in skills’ – groups. It is not as easy as painting a car. Car painters uses the newest technology the cart manufacturers had to use their skills and brains using what so ever tools created by themselves, such as niyana, yaththa, mitiya and kiyatha

The circling wheels or the kerakena riya saka the literal meaning in Sinhala people often like to use as an example to the unending journey of the sancara, in its descriptions.

Sansaare bhawe duka
Sri sesi desu mesi
Duka sepa deka nithi perale riya saka lesa loke

The lord Buddha Preached, sansaaric journey brings sadness (Dukkha).  Happiness and sorrow is something that turns and changes constantly like a wheel of a cart.

There are folklores and poems, stories related to the groups of carts that traveled long distances reciting poems to aid the tiredness of long distance travels.

Gaela is the term used to identify or describe/ uses to introduce, ‘the cart’ in the old literature. And the term most familiar to me and the generations after me or little before me is ‘karaththaya’ not the term gaela.

Gael raala is the person who rides the cart. Gael karu is a term used to describe the same. The term Karaththakaaraya is used instead of the term gael karu or gael kaaraya in day to day conversations of people but it is not known as respectable way to address the person. It is not known as a term very insulting either.

I remember when we were constantly changing our residences, renting houses, back in early 1970’s we used a bull cart to move what we owned packing them on a particular box of soap -‘sunlight’. Those days there were no family movers – companies’ but carts or old type Lorries.

Karaththa kawi are famous chapters of books of the literatures of old times.

Mostly they carried goods from place to place ‘karaththa kawi were sang by the groups of  cart men mainly to aid their tiredness until they reach their planned destinations, stopping at certain resting places called ‘ambalama’ example; ‘kadugannawa ambalama. You may have noticed a certain building right side of the road, Kadugannawa, if you are travelling from Colombo towards Mawanella, Pilimathalawa or to Peradeniya, Kandy.

                             ‘kalu gal thalalai paarata damanne
Ema gal pegilai gon kura gewenne
                             Gona nemei harakai bara adinne
Kirgal potta kandai api naginne’

‘Pieces of stones – gravel, what is layered on these paths,
The strengths of the legs of these bulls, are diminishing, aching, because we are traveling on these gravel surfaces,

It is not the bulls who carry the heaviness (of life), the kiri gal potta hill, that is what we are climbing now.’

Duppath kamata gon bengena - dakkanawa
Kantath nethiwa diwa rae api - wehesenawa
Gontath noyek wada dee api - geniyanawa
Denwath dukata dewiyo pihitak – wenawa

Because of poverty, without eating, day & night, giving hazels to the bulls, we proceed, dear God, at least now, ease our sorrows
(Above poems are abastracted from the collection of poems ‘jana kawi muthuhara’- by P.H. Ranasinghe)

The carts of past were not just a mode of passenger movers. There were indescribable stories attached to these lives of people of past.  I think the aches and pains of those people who carried ‘people by their shoulders towards their preferred destinations from past to present writes the pages of present not in ink but sweat of past.

Lets respect each and every person of past of all eras for teaching us ‘how to bear what so ever pains during their travels, journeys , short distance or long distance until they reach their desired destinations facing battles of past , fighting against ‘injustice’, insults etc.

An Amateur .......................

Often, I try to pick and choose titles, topics, words, from various sources for me to write something and post on foot path. The sources are not limited and topics are never difficult to pick and choose. To search for a topic looking around is sufficient. You can write about sky, about birds, about trees anything you hear or see.

I do not think that you can exactly watch what you watched a few moments ago because ‘things keep changing’ , take a small plant that you planted few days ago what can you observe ? is the plant look same? take 'self' as a person, your surroundings , the sky for instance. let me write what i observe during this elaboration on 'an Amateur',

Few minutes ago, I observed a tiny dark cloud and in about few minutes later I could not locate the same cloud but a ranges of dark clouds. And the colour of the cloud also was different to the cloud that I observed earlier.

Life is full of changes and differences, inevitable. We lack nothing in these universe things to write, things to talk, things to draw, things to paint thongs to discuss and things to fight; over a piece of land, a book, something or anything.

There are no clouds to be seen but i noticed a group of little birds were flying over to the roof of the house of the neighbor of near lane.

I often like to go for movie hunt. My today’s choice was Soviet Russian, German and also Chinese but finally I end up watching a Japanese movie with English sub titles. A good movie ‘Tokyo Newcomer’, a Chinese in Tokyo who tried to play GO but was not an amateur to the game.  This is the first time I heard about Go and have not seen anyone playing the game before, so i had no clues about the game. interesting to watch the players were using black & white objects and i saw, the players were moving the objects and keeping on some of the places of the game board. I believe were following the rules of the game. Looked similar to Chess but there was no King or a queen in the areas of the game, i noticed.

The colour of the sky is different to the colour of the sky earlier.  And I can see some white clouds were not trying to still but moving as well.

The surrounding looks 'mute' a bit. no voices to be heard.  i did not over heard any conversation from our immediate neighbourhood ,between the grand son and the grandfather.

Every generous genius had to pass the stage - ‘amateur’ before he or who ever reaching the stage of ‘genius’ or great’.

John Mcenroe was an amateur to the field of Tennis before he started playing professional tennis in the courts of the super stars and play star class game like Wimbledon.

A couple of white clouds trying to move towards east or west I have no idea.

Our Susanthika was an amateur before she started running on the grounds of Olympians. Aravinda De Silva was an amateur before he started playing professional and accurate cricket in the global grounds of cricket.

The sky is cloudless.

To read something accurately or to draw something beautifully one can not do on an instance basis. To read how to pronounce the alphabet of any mother tongue a kid has to learn methodically, step by step. And no kid learn Z without learning the letter A – Y though it is true that kids pick and choose from what they hear and rarely start from Z not from A (some) before reaching the stair cases of a school a child may show some abilities in pronouncing letters accurately, at least a few letters of an alphabet,. Such kids may have learned them from their siblings, perhaps.

I can’t read sky accurately because it is ‘almost night’ I do not know whether the sky is full of clouds or cloud less but I hardly saw a craw ( not sure) was flying.

I brought the book, ‘Almost night’ of the author Ann Prospero but could not complete reading other than few pages of the book.

Few moments ago I notice that the perhaps the same craw (again not sure), flying taking the opposite route, towards the area that he originally came from must be returning to his original place or where he came from.

I an amateur to the Tamil Language though I can speak a bit and while watching Tokyo newcomer I could memorize some of the words I learned from a teacher who came to our house via television few years back. I watched them on National
Television / Rupavahini. She was a Sinhalese teacher who was speaking like real Japanese and wore a kimono, a Japanese traditional outfit during the lesson.  What is her name? I can’t remember.

Every newly wedded is an amateur to the concept of 'living' in a different context.

Stand like a Peony tree and walk like a Lilly (?) have I quoted the right phrase? I doubt. Peony is the National flower of Japan, right? Trees are firm no doubt ‘deforestation’ is a familiar term.

Some amateurs learn things faster and become qualifiers. Some are slow learners. Stand firm that is what any amateur or qualifier or genius must do. Immatureness is not a disqualification or an amateur is not a dis qualifier.

Fixing something broken often an amateur can do better than a qualifier because they like to give it a try not just because they know how to fix.
I can see that the streets lights have started their ‘duty’ and a pale light of the house of a neighbor of the front lane is trying to peep through a mat giving me some opportunity to read a bit of the outskirt of my place of living.

i can hear some children are singing a song from an unknown vicinity.
