'Millions of people have come to Nugegoda asking Mahinda'

let me begin my essay of the Day

Perhaps, for many here or there out side to country ' do not want Mahinda Rajapaksha, the former President of the Country in any of the positions, some expect either Former President ; MR hang till death or chase him away from Power positions 

what did i mean by 'any of the positions'? one of them is 'Removing his name from the list of the names of the members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party'.  Yet i do not like to similarize the situation with the decision taken by then authorities to cancell 'the community rights' of the highly respectable first Lady Prime Minister of the world, Madame Simao Bandaranayake.

'repetitions of incidents' is this the pattern of histories of any community / globe?   is it like a wheel of incidents?

The above question came in to my mind in many of the occasions. if you are a careful reader or if you are a student of 'history' such questions may come and settle in your mind. 

what is obvious or apparent in the current Political ( local or international) other than anything else?

let me help you

No terror groups wanted President MR back in position or back in any of the power holding positions. can you expect any terror supporters to support such a Leader?

why some of the diplomats were asked to return to the Country? Specifically the Ex chiefs commands of Armed Forces of the Country? 

Reason is ' Supporting President MR to achieve above Mission

When were they, the Ex Armed chiefs first joined The Armed Forces of the Country? During the era of President MR's government ? 

Then, i do not hesitate to say that is a brilliant decision taken by the government because 'children are naturally imature for any diplomatic positions' and without attending any school they should not assigned with any responsible positions

if so 'Let me salute President Maithreepala Sirisena for the decision taken'

God Bless you President Maithree for thinking 'using your own brain cells'

what do you expect from a DIPLOMAT? would you explain
is to your country men? 

Is it just the paper work they have to complete?

NO SECURITY work is added? for a tiny example

take any worker who works in UK for example, diplomats ( representatives of their respective countries) does not have to think of the security of such individuals or groups other than the authorities of UK? 

i strongly believe that an eagle eyed security watch is essential in the current socio - political world we live for all , any reasons mentioned or not mentioned here

such things cannot be bargained 


what is SECURITY by the way in its broad meaning

fighting in the battle fields? Catching or arresting a person who has stolen a jack-fruit from a near by land ?

NO information flowing system is needed? 

No brains as such needed outside country that has a better connection or a link with the internal systems? Is that what you think?

what is the reason for you to become so 'tearful' these days than those days?

is it because now the people you expected have become 'soul decision makers' of the Country? Who else is Happy by the way?

let me move on to the topic 'diplomats' once again

'A DIPLOMAT' when it comes to any level of 'INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS' plays a massively important role

They should play the role of secret Agents in a way to look after country from their residential territorial view? 

HOW?

If any threats can be seen in any of the 'residential diplomatic territories' they are expected to report? am i right?

i cannot see any reason to devalue the positions of the diplomats, assigned by former government (though i refrain from writing anything about the other diplomats other than about the Ex Armed commands) 

it is fair if you have asked them to come for a meeting to get any information regarding situation outside to country' ( security threats) 

i believe what is a yahapath government can do is TO LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR PEOPLE SAY' that would definitely strengthen your government for a longer years to come

that would sustain your government to at least the way it described in the constitutions 

So according to the current Prime Minister of the country, the Government is going to decide about the CITY PORT
PLANNED together (?) funded by the Chinese Government , what needs to be done etc?

Are you afraid of challenges?

did i hear someone told the people of this country long ago that he wanted this country to be a country like ' Singapore'?

what does it mean?

is it something borrowed ?  You don't like anything genuine?

I respect INDIA VERY MUCH, if you say that India is the Head of Zone, let me respect that too. 
But if you think that INDIA should get every contract from the country to build something fresh or what ever, and if you are afraid of India gets Angry for maintaining a relationship with some other Nation, who they think is a threat to their 'HEAD of the ZONE" position?

Are you going to ask permission from them?

What is the theory you follow with regard to  'the policies of Foreign Affairs', with regard to the terms that all think is important when it comes to 'a country's admin systems', the terms are 'independence' 'uniqueness' , 'No interferences', 

how many minutes you have allocated for the news that comes from the opposition Parties, that you were saying this and that of 'Media Democracy'

i have a another questions to ask

total time of news telecasting in each the state channels = ?
time allocated for opposition parties = ?

IS Mister ASAD SALI resigned from his position?

Who says the LEADER should do everything ?

To develop a UNIT lets say , you need a good Captain.true no doubt. i can give examples a better one , if any one of you need or lack in examples.

it was a strong example that justifies the above rationale. 

that is an example i can remind in order to understand the 'importance of the qualities of a good leader'

it's about leaders 

in addition to that,in that particular year 'all Armed Forces and the Secretary - Defense, no doubt along with all other groups , given their fullest support to achieve the target, was fully apparent. Also the result shows the spirit of good supporters / assisting staff or the major task holders, completers including of any goal hunters

 
keep the Defense Groups on a side to understand the rest of the units and the tasks assigned. let's turn towards an example to verify, to get a better picture of what i am trying to say, further

The leader is appointing his / her staff, lets assume, not only to assist the leader but also to complete the tasks assigned to each individual staff? 


Is that right? if you want more clarifications, lets say those who wins anyle relevant elections,should be allocated with suitable tasks, expected to be completed and most importantly RESPONSIBLE. 

lets me explain the same in another words

what is the basic structure  of a lets say an 'Admin Unit', for an example?

who are the people seated below the seat of the LEADER, within the 'bureaucratic frame work' 

i don't know whether any of the MP should refer 'Max Weber' to get an accurate picture

If the leader should do everything what is the point having the REST?

Who says the LEADER is RESPONSIBLE for everything ? 
 
i suggest,  the PERSON / individuals, who SAYS so SHOULD STAY at home , the LEADER will look after the ADMIN UNIT in its every aspect

Raise his / her PAY then

Automatically the pay of the unit supporters, when they reached back home, respecting the retirement , should be added to the salary of the LEADER

how about that : - )

If the same theory applicable to any Community Management , The Country Management , the authorities should Open the exit door to leave the place and rest at home, anyone who thinks so

Who is aware of the set of term ' DIVISION OF LABOUR / DUTIES / TASKS'(Y%u úNckh)


when you are divisionning the tasks among the members of your unit, YOU NEED TO HAVE A THOROUGH UNDERSTANDING OF THE SKILLS, CAPACITIES, WEAKNESSES OF YOUR MEMBERS BEFORE ASSIGNING ANY TASKS. 

IF YOU FEEL THAT 'THE ABILITY PROFILE' OF THEM IS HEAVIER THAN THE TASKS ASSIGNED, WHAT DO YOU THINK THAT YOU SHOULD DO?

DO YOU THINK THAT YOU SHOULD GIVE THEM A POULTRY UNIT TO LOOK AFTER? 
 
I think in the coming election , the candidates who says or believe that 'the person who is in charge of  any sub ministries, departments, big ministries, the unit managers should shoulder the responsibility of their assigned task 'must earn highest VOTES'.

Additionally, those who take the responsibility of what ever tasks they are assigned with , tasks incompleted , failed, should 'represent them selves' without any hesitations to do so, 'must get highest votes' for their honesty. You can rely on such people 

Those who think that they can relaying with any others, out side grounds mustn't earn votes

you cannot rely on them 

let me give reasons .........................

Those Who always think that it is the leader who should take every responsibility of any wrong doing for example, are dangerous in the long run, harmful to any admin unit, won't benefit from them. 

They might use the same theory, when it comes to 'people question them for their assigned tasks , uncompleted, they might point the finger towards the leader who lead the Unit, naming he or she as the person responsible for their un attended tasks. 

if you think that 'foundation stones of some now have become tall trees ' please provide 'self justifications'

Do you see any ill-justifications in my rationale here?

i see a point in 'Why the Executive President Mr. M. Sirisena appointed, Mr. Wickramasinghe as the  Prime Minister' and how?

If he does not have the right to use the executive power, the former prime Minster is the Prime Minister of the Sworn  Government until the next election surfaces 

i know how powerful is the VOTE of people. 

Specifically, when it comes to not only selecting the head of the country also in selecting the rest of the members of the Parliament.

The people of this country we live, must think of the skills and capacities of the 'profiles' of the candidates of the forth coming election

i am thinking as to why 'Building Geographical Empires' has become a passion of most (?),or some of the groups / allies, coalitions of this world we live?  what sources or from what examples they have taken the 'idea' of expanding Geographical territories of their dreams or desires, though above groups do not really have the authority , legal, ethical or otherwise to do so?

one can easily understand this by trying to understand 'ancient local admin systems'  of their respective countries. Think or try to analyze this staying within the geographical, social, economical and also cultural contexts of the lands, communities, societies or the countries you live. If not i believe it is not easy to get an accurate picture of what is happening or what had happened in the past.

i am not specifically thinking of Julius Ceaser or about Emperor Ashoka and others, of their ruling styles, admin methodologies, treating their people, passion of expanding the territories other than just ruling their own inherited or monarch democratically won territories.

what i sometimes don't understand is that why this world is so much fond of 'violence or aggressiveness', hate or arrogance other than the opposite ever since 'the history of human creature'

Think of the World Wars and the consequences past or present? Is the world already compensated , paid back debts of Wars existed?

Is Hiroshima and Nagasaki 100% safe and shows any remained results of the Bomb attacks to the cities? think of the children of today. do they born with any difficulties or with less abilities ( physical or otherwise)  as a result of those incidents of past?

i am sure the Pearl Harbour is now fully recovered.

also i like to believe that almost 90% of the colonized lands, countries of this part and the other parts of the globe, now are, lets say 90%  recovered from the consequences of  expanding , exploring the not only geographical and authoritarian of colonial emperors, empires, the dream of enlarging territoties of their empires.  

Are We?

Are we thinking beyond such mentalities? Are we still slaves of the 'thinking of others, other territorial mentalities, attitudes, Philosophical , geographical, or economical or else political?

How important it is to sustain as an Independent Unit of Asia , Europe or any other continental thinking?

How can you define the term ' Liberal' or Slavery?

Yet, i do not think that any single unit ( geographical or political is totally independent or interdependent because we each other depend on the theories, definitions, concepts , innovations that we all have found out, innovated or created in each the part of the globe

the Teachers', The students of everywhere get the benefit of what Rousseou, Maria Montessori, Plato, Max Weber, Emile Durkhiem, Marie Curie, Alexander Grahambell , John Loggie Beared ( please pardon if i have written the names incorrectly) William Wordsworth, Rabindranath Tagore, Political thinking of , Lincoln, Mahatma Ghandhi, Bandaranayake, Mao Sethun, Che,  Satyajith Ray, Steven Spielberg, Lester James Pieris, Akira Kurasowa, Michel Ondattchi , Arundathi Roy, Sumitra Pieris, Aparna Sen, Auan Saan Sukhi, donated to the world staying or going beyond their capacities.

what we should try to understand is 'indepedency is different to interdependency or to dependency'

Winning or Defeating strategies also of wars ( humanitarian or otherwise) is totally unique to their own specific issues, histories, background, Geo- political, social , cultural situations. Example World Wars, The LTTE issue of the country, political or otherwise issues (Past or Present) in Afghanistan, Syria, Kuwait , the current involvement of America with regard to the ISIS issue, ( the support of allies including) the Gulf War, Kashmir situation etc.

 i do not know why some need a state separate, other than a qualitatively bigger empires of their respective thinking, faiths, phylosophies? what is the worth having a geographical if the people who lives in the geo territory not heatfully, or totally believing what you are saying or thinking?

What assurance you have to say that if you own a bigger geo- territory, using weaponizes, you can win the brains, minds of the people who reside within that?

what is worth doing?

Owning or gaining a land, geographical territory by force, by fighting ( war kind of)  to full fill your desires of faiths? or by mentally, emotionally, brainly, ethically, qualitily owning something by not brain washing but convincing things accurately respecting the ethics of what you believe, respect, faiths?


can you then get the respect of the majority of the globe or not?

can you then win more hearts and minds of every part of the world or not?

can you then minimize the death rates, annual due to violence, aggression, wars, battles or not?

can you then invest the money you invest to buy things require to fight with each other on something else, for example to uplift the lives of your people, to build a better place ( no fight zones) for your children, for the educational upliftments of your children, youth, adults or not?

can you then, if you follow a more peaceful methodology can spread the messages of Al Quran or not? 

other than that do you think that the ways, strategies that you are currently follow to expand your religious territories, would help to sustain what you expect in the long run?

what if they are emotionally not converted but only geographically just because you are forcing them to do so or to live in one marked territory? would that support you objectives totally?

during a war it is inevitable that you lose lives. Then what can you do with the remaining if the majority die of the war you are handling?

some wars , some want to continue or sustain that is the way that some reacts to certain things, happenings of the world. So if you want be the emperors of the globe, do it educationally rather trying to own geographies by fighting

i am particularly addressing The Chief of the 'Department of Names Changing'  : - ) of the present Government. 

I like to say that if you have not established a department as such , good to choose that option and set up an institution, because i can see that you have many more names to changed and replace them with a name of your choice'

for an example, if you still believe that the name of the series of schools that the former government has started, for instance,  'Mahindodaya' Schools' ( the name) should be changed and  replaced with another name;  'Udyogaya' or with 'Maithree Patashala'.

i guess there is no issues because  you have gained the power to do so. i believe that i can understand 'the working strategies of present Government also by such actions taken.

for me it is something silly. 

i guess you have misunderstood 'the vote given to you by the people of both 'UNP and Sri Lanka Freedom Party. so you may proceed thinking that you can fool your voters or thinking that people have voted for you to take that kind of actions instead of starting something of your own and give what ever name you like.  is it a bad suggestion?
 

And i am extremely sorry to note that i feel  that 'what ever the Former Government have established , you want to delete even the names of such establishments in order to erase the names from their their memories.   

next, i ( one of the civilians of the country) like to ask you the reasons you can give your countrymen as to change the name of the international Auditorium , Theater ' Nelum Pokuna' all of a sudden and re name it as 'Ananda Kumaraswamy memorial hall' (?)

i have a better suggestion if you like to accept.

WE DO NOT HAVE  A SCHOOL FOR any students who are interested in learning ACTING, SCRIPT WRITING, PRODUCING, EDITING, MUSIC COMPOSING, EVERY SINGLE THING THAT CAN LEARN UNDER ONE ROOF, From a well known professionals PLEASE SET UP A SCHOOL , WE DON'T EXPECT YOU TO DO IT WITHIN 03 MONTHS but within next 6 months , perhaps AND KINDLY NAME IT AS ' THE ANANDA KUMARASWAMY MEMORIAL SCHOOL OF CINEMA. you can HONOR him that way, if you believe that you should take actions to dedicate the institutions on behalf of their names ( contributions) 
 
HOW ABOUT THAT?

do something fresh, what is the point trying to rename all the names of the establishments that the former government have set up?

do you think that what i say is unfair?

how many names of roads, institutions, in this country we have dedicated to Non nationals? if you believe that we should change all the names and start naming them giving the names of the local heroes 'how do you get it'?

think a while ....................

i guess that is going to be not a good tradition to begin but something not worth to continue as a tradition.

If the former governments followed that procedures what would happen to the BMICH, though it was built to honor the Both Bandaranayake' leaders of the Country. none of the presidents took actions to change it. and let me give you more examples in my next essay.

Professors of Education: for the name of ' Mr. Sugathapala Senarath Yapa'

And also for the Hearts of Hantana, Muditha & Samanthi, Suramya & Balasuriya, Thalagune & Eeshika in particular, and to all who respect Hantana now and then ..................... 

Mr. Sugathapala Senarath Yapa is a Well Known Director of Cinema. He owns the patent license of Introducing Giants to the Sinhalese Artistic cinema. Few of the memorable creations of his talent factory are as follows; Hantane Kathawa (The Story of Hantana), Minisa saha Kaputa ( Th,e man and the Crow), Pembara Madhu (Dear Madhu) , Induta Mal Mitak (A hand full of flowers for Indu)

Few of the Giantly talented Artists of Sinhalese Cinema who were introduced by the Director were, Mr. Vijaya Kumanaranathunge, Mr. Amarasiri kalansooriya, Mrs. Samanthi Lenarol

let me talk about few professors that always capture the hearts and minds of not only of Sri Lankans also of Globe. 'Professor Amara Ranathunge' to begin with this essay. Wife of veteran Singer, Artist ' Mr. Dayaratne Ranathunge'. she is a researcher of many Folk Music Corners of this country, Asia, and of Globe. She was working attached to  a Foreign University and i hope she is back in the country. But i don't think that she has stopped the way she worked earlier, still contributing to Research in the field of folk music in particular. she is a well known artist specially in Classical Music and the first ever Professor of her field in the Country.  let me say this lady, how much i respect her from the bottom of my heart.

will come as a breeze , touching the entire Mountain of Hantana
as a breeze,will reside, near the room that fills with the fragrance of yours  
 ( song is sung by Mastro W.D.Aamardewa) 

The song takes me around the Stories of Hantana that i have heard and read before. 

Let me now move on to the Professor of Hantana ( for me) Professor Ediriweera sarachchandra one of the Most talented  hearts of Sinhalese 'Arts' as a whole. ( Academic personality, Artists, Dramatist, Novelist etc.) The Epic poem 'Maname' is the most acclaimed drama of local arts arena, crafted so genuinely by Professor Sarachchandra 

Professor Sunil Ariyaratne. Professor of all in one type. Lecturer, Director of Cinematography, Lyricists etc. The Series of songs written and the Movies already directed and produced and Yet to be released, the value, the importance of contribution to the Local art arena is unexplainable, due to lack of terms and words of my vocabulary.  

Professor J.B. Dissanayake Giant and a popular lecturer, Author, etc. etc. i love the small DVD produced for small children to learn the Alphabet in Musical mode. i, believe that has a series of DVDs the young teachers, parents, any individuals, groups who are interested in Early in Early childhood Development can easily Purchased it and use as a tool kit to improve your child's not only vocabulary but also rhythms of life. 

and i love the Book 'Ape Gama' (if my memory is accurate and up to date the way that i titled it is not incorrect) written by professor Dissanayake.

Professor Kusuma Karunaratne too is a massive Lady in the education field once headed the Department of Sinhalese language of the University of Colombo. Am i right madam? She is still active in the field as exactly as those days. i have no doubts 

i believe thanks to many artistic brains of the country, we manage to sustain the Local not only folk, traditional dancing heritages but also the culture attached to it. i take this opportunity to thank professor Mudiyanse Dissanayake, professor of Traditional Dances of the country in particular. 

For all hearts of Hantana what i write is no strange. The Arts theater (AT) of the Faculty of Arts, and the Sarachchandra Open Theater of Drama of The University of Peradeniya are witnessing everything of Arts and crafts, heritages of our Country. 

My mind goes back to the day that i watched Hantane Kathawa at the Arts Theater of University of Peradeniya, for the first time in my life. 

And my mind, thoughts, inevitably wanders around the mountain of Hantana with the friends of yesteryear. The feelings and the thoughts that captured my heart for about nearly 20 years, i can still freshly feel and touch in its fresh and original thinking. 

The Hantana, the Memorable institute to learn about any Fauna and flora, the valleys, about moistures of life, is, i feel changing my oldest thoughts in to a young.

Professors of Education: Continuation note of Previoust Essay

it is little difficult to find something unconnected or disconnected with each other , or irrelevancies in anything of yesteryear or of any incidents of personal lives happened, took place, in this part or that corner of world.
Sometimes i feel past is very well connected with present and sometimes you may feel that the past or present is an extension of both.

Education is not an isolated phenomenon. The subject it self is not only vast and massive but also very well connected or interconnected, interrelated with many other phenomenon; unique or independent.

when you talk of something independent, situation, incident of present, unknowingly or unconsciously you may connect it with something happened in the past.  when you discuss or talk of something present or of someone present that doesn't mean you have forgotten the other valuable things, events or about people in general.  the problem that we all, mostly face is not only as challenges or as human creatures is to fight against time, memory or space, according to my understanding.

so when you start writing something, you may forget some other, most important, relevant, must talk or discuss facts of life, of people, individuals. sometimes that is perhaps 'it is the way that the human mind acts or reacts to certain things of life, particular incidents of ones life, and it is something that you can independently discuss as one big subject 'mind and memory'. often it is a matter of ones age.

i like how some analyze human mind. i like the way how explains thing about human mind ,brain or about any human organs. Professor Nandadasa Kodagoda is one of the respectable doctors of this land with not only very genuine knowledge of his subject also of the way he interacted with the community he dealt with. how he explained things to his subject 'medicine' is amazing. i remember how he always relate his discussions with the teachings of the doctrine of Buddhism.

Professor Kalo Fonseka is one of my favorite analysts of human brain that i have read about and have listened to, in this era of my living.

though the subjects they discuss or analyze is independent or unique to each other that does not mean you cannot enter all the subject they talk of or discussed isn't belonged to the main subject called ' Education' or 'knowledge'. any subject that exist in the world is a bead of a well connected chain'.

Professor Senarath Panawithana. Who does not know about him? i don't know whether i should call him an Archeologist, a Historian, an Educationist, or an Artist or technologist when think of the sub subjects that he mainly associated with. The Sigiriya Frescoes and the importance of the findings related to the 'Kingdom of Sigiriya of King Kashyapa are huge and massive. Professor Senaka Bandaranayake is the big brain that comes to my mind next to Professor Paranavithana.

their continuous research is our wealth i like to believe.

please do not try to devalue what i write  because if i write something i try my best to give it a fullest value specially about the personalities of our land. i don't think that i exaggerate the knowledge of these massive tall personalities, for me they are massive.

let me walk around a bit in the passages of University of Peradeniya. one of the most difficult decision that i had to take in my life was choosing Sociology as my main subject giving up history. Professor Siriweera comes in to my mind. He was undoubtedly a master brain of Ancient history of our country.

one of the reasons that i wanted to continue history as a subject was mainly the way Professor Gamini Keerawella injected ' the facts of modern history in to my brain'. he was one of the friendliest Lecturers we had.  Professor Keerawella is the Head of Department of History, Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya.

just because my topic is about professors of education, it limits my thoughts and essay to a certain extent . Professor Sirisena was the Professor who captained the department of Sociology when we were students of Sociology. i believe Professor H.M.D.K Herath is the present captain of the Department. he was not a doctor of sociology or professor back then but a close teacher of students.

let me come back to the Open University of Nugegoda, Sri Lanka.

Professor Thanaraj is a massive personality who has gained his skills and knowledge not following any detours or short cuts and pastes of Education. let me take this opportunity to respect his 'wills' , dedication, contribution to the area of education.

Professor Lekamge is a complete sincere package of knowledge and a wealth to the Faculty of Education and to the University.

i might need to continue this essay on another day because this land is not just filled with titles or certificates of knowledge, the land is treasured with huamn brains with huamn hearts.

Professors of Education; This Essay is a Dedication note written to respcet Professor Chandra Gunawardena

Happy birth Day, faculty of education!

Professor Chandra Gunawardena is the founder Dean of the Faculty of Education, The Open University of Sri Lanka. I don’t think that I can really give an accurate picture of her contribution to the field of Education locally and globally thinking of her decades long service to the field.

Before I further move on to the academic profile of the Professor Chandra Gunawardena, let me slightly brief about the current academic structure of the faculty. 

The Faculty of Education just celebrated her twelve year old birth day.

The three siblings who closely work with one and other of the faculty are as follows; The Department of Secondary and Tertiary Education (Headed by Mr. Ranjan Gonsalkorale), The Department of early Childhood and Primary Education (Headed by Dr. Anoma Ariyaratne),The Department of Special Needs education (Headed by Dr. Dhanapala). 

The entire faculty is currently headed and monitored by Professor Shironica Karunanayake, the first ever professor in Educational Technology. 

That is the basic structure of this educational unit.

Frankly, it is so difficult for me to write anything about tall personalities and I am afraid to do so. Mainly because I know that it is never easy to explain A – Z of their contributions to the field, unless you study every inch of their work. 

And the other thing is I have a very poor vocabulary that may not perfectly weigh their contribution through my words. From what i have,I can somehow try to essay this and that of this and that things of the world but not about personalities, very respectable.      

I am not going to write anything specifically about her profile. The following gives you a hint of who she is and her contribution to the field of Education, though it is impossible for a list of document or a page to accurately elaborate, mark, weigh or measure one’s strengths, capacities or lengths and widths of areas of work. i believe this might justify or fill the lacks of my words or explanations

first and foremost, I can say is that she is particularly a well wisher of the Faculty, of the University. That does not mean that she favours the University and doesn't care about other universities, educational establishments in particular because what ever she contributes has now become a wealth of the Nation, there is no doubt about that. 

  

She guides every Student who comes seeking her advice specifically when they need her advice to full fill their educational academic desires. she does whole heartedly.

If I am accurate in what i heard and read about her, she is very interested in ‘comparative education’ and she has immensely contributed her knowledge in that field. 

i guess it is a theory or a methodology that can be practised not only to test or practice any strategy, tool of education in particular but also a good tool to apply and see in any other field, technical or otherwise, engineering or sciences, art or culture, even in politics.

 

Unless you compare things you cannot truly weigh measure the weakness or the strengths of something. Comparisons provide you accurate pictures of successes and failures of something. Whether it is to success or to fail you need to have the strength, will, capacity to begin, initiate, implement something. i don't know whether that is called 'initiating Power' :-) 

in theory learners, learn from the mistakes the ex's did. the learners uses the best practices that ex's practiced in the past. the educational Practices, learning and teaching methods of earlier educationists,teachers, in service advisers,directors etc.

people, students learn from the events or incidents happened in the decades full of history, from time to time. Students can study and can compare the how and why some students riots or struggles succeeded or failed in what contexts. the policy makers can compare why the students mostly rebelled or fought in past, to gain what etc. and they can introduce new policies if necessary to minimize hazards of gaining knowledge in the process of learning and Teaching. 

you can compare how sometimes the students become a victim of some things or how they become users of some political agendas if you like, reading the pages of history.  

why some target university Students other than targeting other groups sometimes as a weapon or as an equipment of education to discuss things related to education.

how good it is, if teachers or students try to update their knowledge with current day to day innovations of education, theories - global.

further, if you don’t or didn’t do something, initiate something, begin something there is no big chance for others to learn from mistakes of initiated projects or programmes.

No person is initiating, planning something expecting failure results. Yet, often you may have to face such situations. If you try any teaching learning methodology for the first time before anyone else started practicing, you might not see what you initiated in its every angle or from every side of it and may happen to miss some important facts when implementing. But others might observe, analyze because they are outside to the ‘doing’ active frame but talking or analyzing. 

If you compare the education reforms now and then, the education systems within and within the region, within the globe you can get an idea of what needs to be done next. 

You cannot specifically say, looking at something that the education system of a European country has implemented or established that the same is relevant or good for this country. But when you compare things you can understand or learn the strategies used, what became useful or useless why etc.

When you compare things you can learn lot about; meeting targets of education, efficiency, accuracy of using tools, teaching aids etc. according to my personal, poor knowledge on the subject, Technology has no specific regional shape or a size, unless you have to deal with the current contexts of any community and apply what ever method accurately and most importantly appropriately. 

Professor Chandra has written books in Sinhala as well, that provides anyone who wishes to enhance their knowledge in many of the areas such as, Educational Concepts of educationalists, philosophers, now and then etc. 

Education as part of socialization process, how important it is to inject 'right attitude of learning', in to the minds of fresh learners, beginners at the beginning of their teaching and learning. 

She discusses many things not only through her books but also through when ever she speaks of values of various educational segments in public, to various educational groups, policy makers including, all sector beneficiaries. 

I started reading one of the books written by her but unfortunately I couldn’t complete it yet, ‘Adhyapanaya ha samaja sadhaka (Education and social facts?), December,1995.

i guess some students do not think of using the facilities they are given but sometimes they blame or talk of what they don't have forgetting what is available. The Reasearch Centre plus a library is a place where i find that some student don't use that much, and i believe opens our eyes to 'think whether we are getting the maximum benefits from the available resources.    

She says (Adhyapanaya ha Samaja Sadhaka) how fast everything changes with regard to global knowledge. How fast the old knowledge expires than we can imagine. She further provides facts as to justify what she says, even before you send something to print of what you compile sometimes what you say, rational, logic may get expires or change or new knowledge is added, faster than you can imagine. 

Yet, she respects and says 'still the Print media plays a prominent role with regard to sharing knowledge'. She discusses in various ways that how important education for a well Balanced Society.

She compares facts related to its ‘origins and destinations’

Professor Uma Kumaraswamy, who was the Special Chief Guest of the Programme organized to mark the beautiful event of the faculty, she is The former Vice Chancellor of the Open University of Sri Lanka.

During her Presentation ' Third Mission', she explained many good things that opens our educational eyes. she says how important it is for an educational Institution to take initiative to work closely also as a community contributor in addition to what they do as a guide to education, via their fields of expertise. 

Here when you learn or view various community projects, she gave us examples to study, get chances to compare various community projects, their strategies used, impportance os using some practices, successes, failures, provides chances to learn from each others mistakes. And then do something prominent, sustainable.

Both professors’ interests shows how we can use knowledge to full fill various not only desires of education but also to help who ever in need of technical or otherwise knowledge, guidance to improve or enhance their tiny or big projects , livelihoods or anyother.

I don’t think that just because other institutions started helping communities setting up tissue culture projects for an example, we also should do the same, that is not what the professor says, or professors hint us to do, advice us to do if suitable, they gives us hints to what can be done, how should be done, and how to implement, and most importantly, how to monitor what you have implemented or to be implemented.

Monitoring aid loads of educational issues, aches and pains of any methodologies, strategies of past, or it minimizes learning difficulties of any person.

I believe, in Chillaw or in Batticaloa, wherever in this country, if you find any children in need of assistants ,help, accurate guidance because they are children with special needs, or differently able, you can whole heatedly begin or initiate a community project to help them. No point discussing just give it a go. View the mission of Professor Uma Kumaraswamy to get an idea.

You can start a 'community Training Centre for Teachers’ getting the financial support of any well wishes also of the government support. That is to take care of the children with special care and attention.

I wish you long life, Madam Professor Chandra Gunawardena and more and more strength to contribute to the field of education though it is a little tiresome when you find people with different understanding or capacities of learning
