Sukho Buddhanan uppado - Sukha saddamma desana
Sukha Sangassa samaggi - samagganan thapo sukho
Happy is the birth of Buddhas,
Happy is the teaching of the Noble Doctrine,
Happy is the unity of the Sangha,
Happy is the asceticism of the United
the venerable thera was a 'Shrawaka - Sanga in the complete meaning or the sense of the term.
103 years of living, learning, observing, preaching the word of Gautama Budunwahanse, Ape loku haamuduruwo, The Nayaka Thero Ven. Weweldeniye Medhalankara giving 'peace of mind' the Buddha's way for the lives of the needy, the truth seekers who are traveling endlessly seeking for an 'end of sufferings' 'searching for happiness' but again and again entangle with the same, ' Anithaya , Dukka , Anathma' as pruthagjana exampling the 'life of a pruthagjanas' who has not attained Nibbana.
The Thera lived a complete life i have no questions 'Preaching' and asking the followers to follow the eternal truth of Buddha Vachana to become 'a complete' person in the unit of 'gihi geya', the living unit/house of Pruthagjana.
'gihi geya' is the place where the pruthagjanas live and the Maha Sangha the place where they stay learning and protecting 'the word of dhamma' ' the Pavidi Bima' 'the temples the sacred places.
century of knowledge gained living and following the Buddha vachanaya 'shared with all the Shrawaka/listeners and also teaching the same to the 'Sangha' helping them and guiding them to continue their role of 'guiding all the sharwaka/'upasaka' 'upasika' to lead a good life. i heard these things from the well known of the society , those who have associated and learned the good words from the thero.
the most venerable Thera was an example that have praised the teachings of the lord Buddha apart from taking our minds, towards the door of dhamma and allowing us to walk along the lane of 'understanding the reality of life' i like to believe .
Niwan maga neha boho - dura
Na -himiyani a apatai hari - dura
Yaayuthu bawa pemini sema

niwan wediyada hari ikmana
wadinu mena apa maw bima - kalpayakin wuwa kam netha
( i borrowed above Buddhist stanza from an old book written long ago - The BOSAT, Vesak number - 2493 vol xii, No. 4 whole No 48)
