Not only here or
only there or here and there, Christmas is everywhere. That is the specialty of this holy holiday season.
Other than that
there is another specialty, we have come to the end of this year. It is normal that sometimes we all take our
schedules, diaries from the brief cases we locked and try to weigh or
measure the gainings or loses , achievements
or trophies won, putting them in to the categories such as ‘personal’ or
carrier.
This year is
special because I joined a different setting when it comes to my carrier. That
is the only difference I can think of when it comes to year 2013. Other than
that there was no much change in the day to day life, spent. Writing an essay,
everyday or every two days was normal to me. Often I found difficulties in
finding an essay topic to elaborate my ideas that too is natural
Last few days of
my life were little different because after my A/L days and first year of the
University I didn’t particular got any chances to view any history books in particular.
But few days
earlier, I bought a book written by venerable Handupelpola Punna Rathana Thero
and lived in the past from time to time. Sometimes it is no easy to come back to
present once you stuck in history or revisited past.
This book actually
changed my thinking lanes to some extent. One never can forget individual
histories or history of the motherlands they live. Specifically, every man or a woman is part of
this land and history. We all knowingly or unknowingly, intentionally or
unintentionally have become partners, authors who supplied materials, incidents
to write the history of this land we live. Inevitable.
Every individual,
every family, every child, every party, every country member was a part of it. Somehow or the other we, the ancestors, all
who lived here or visited this land, communicated or related, stayed or moved
away have become characters of all chapters of gone by days. Think about and see whether I am wrong or
right in this my explanation.
History one never
can change
The story of
Vijaya Kuweni, one never can change and we write. One never can say ‘ Sigiriya’ was not built by
King Kashyapa or that it was built by Alexandra the hero of a some other
country. History is history. Whether it was Sigiriya or the Ruwanmeli seya
or some other stupa one never can change the name of the author or the creator
and replace some other name instead. Can we
say No we don’t like Vijaya lets say it was not Vijaya who came and settled
here it was ‘ Alexander.
It is a future
that one can change not history.
Prince Vijaya was
the first to visit this country along with his 700 country members without
facing any Visa Issues : - )
That was the first
inter state marriage, mixed marriage happened and reported, between this
country and India or with any other country. Vijaya was a Kshastriya and Kuweni
was a Yakkha woman (her tribe) and according to the old traditions her children
( Jeewa hatta, Disaala) never were eligible for the crown, throne, that it self
changed the history of this country, further.
The first reported
incident of a separation of a man and woman of Sri Lanka was the story of
Vijaya and Kuweni. The Vijaya was
originally from there, state of Laata.
Vijaya became the
first Non Sri Lankan or another country member who became the king of this
country that was thanks to the Kuweni, love of Kuweni. I don’t know whether she betrayed her people
because of her affiliation and love towards the uncontrollable prince from
Laata
Some chapters were
peaceful and some were not. The histories of this world are full of various or
different incidents. Invasions, agreements, visitations, wars, mistrusts,
misunderstandings, compromises, divisions, unities, betrayals, change of rulers,
incarnations, failures, achievements all these, are inevitable chapters of any
history of any land.
Wish you all the
peaceful future !
