Feed Back for Miss Riyoko

Miss Riyoko is a Sakura Flower. She is so elegant and charming and is a teacher appointed by JAICA. She works as a volunteer teacher, student at the 'Supipi Pre-School', maintained by the Department of Early Childhood & Primary Education, Faculty of Education, OUSL.

i think she has studied related subject at an Educational Institute , Australia.

according to what observed, she uses 'all her academic experiences' plus what she has gained from Japan, Australia and from Sri Lanka, as well as what she has gathered teaching little kids, apart from her born talents.

Recently she organized a small work shop for the parties interested in learning or sharing experiences with regard to 'dealing with small kids of early childhood', guiding, directing kids of Pre-Schools.

I do not like to use the term 'teaching' because you do not teach the kids of Pre-Schools in its older meaning of 'teaching' but you guide them to enhance their skills , identify their skills, their interests and then you guide them accordingly

The Teachers ( Professionally trained) sort of direct kids using various strategies rather than trying to teach them using 'teacher centered method.

i guess Teacher Centered Education is no longer valid or a meaningful, total way to guide kids, teaching students of  the Age categories of Early Childhood

But i do not say that it is an old fashioned or passioned way of guding kids because often teacher has to teach not guide during what so ever processes of  providing Edducation for any level of kids

But in the Modern Educational Era 'The CHILD CENTERED EDUCATION has brought better results than using 'teacher centered education method'

Within the Concept, Method & Theory of 'The Child Centered Education', 'CHILD' is the KEY Person. The Teacher becomes important not as a teacher in its traditional and older meaning but as a director of modern 'Teacher - Learner' Concept, Methodology, Theory category'.

The Teacher who doesn't learn while teaching or directing is no longer considered as a teacher in its fullest meaning.

i am not quite sure whether that comes under the subject called 'Teaching & Learning'

Similarly Student of not early childhood but of Primary or Advanced Education or Higher Education, should be a person who 'seeks of newest knowledge'. The child of Pre-School education is naturally a learner through his curiosities

Teaching or learning is an unending process

what ever strategy she uses should be matched to the local culturers of the students belongs to, then it is easy for any student to learn things because such things are very familar to the kids

that is why there is a subject called 'Socio Cutlural Perspectives in Early Childhood Education', perhaps Havard Methods is good for their kids

We need to somehow try to 'Localize our Education Systems' though Student is not a local but a Universal Man

That is what you called Culuralization of Education Systems of the Countries' , Localization of Education Systems of the countries

We do not need Dependent Education system in the country but Sharing is something so good

So Miss Riyoko has become a LOCAL very before she has thought of teaching or guiding our kids or kids global, sharing her experiences with the teachers local

teacher is a global personality she or he doesn't hold any other educational tags but how they uses their talents, knowledge is a must learn thing.

methodologies of the teachers global should not be something stagnant it should be wandered like a wanderer, travels like a good traveler, who travels with knowledge and keep something where ever he travels

Miss Riyoko travels with her luggage of knowledge

i learned a lot from the workshop she organized with the help of the Chief Teacher of the Pre-School and of the other volunteer teachers and Student - Teachers'

What she shared was mostly based on 'Practicalities' - 'Active - Activities'  Methodology', not sort of 'teacher teach students listens' kind of teaching method.

Teacher as well as the students are actively involved in the method that she used and suggests that teachers should practise at class rooms, in guding kids of Pre-School in order to 'give them attractive education package'

In the methods she used , the kids get a lot of opportunities to 'pick and choose', 'think and ask', they them selves find answers for their own queries, enhance vocabulary, number vocabulary

The activities she suggest are very live and active. I believe such methods would help teachers to keep the kids 'all day long active moods'

because of the methods she used, singing for example the kids may get a chance to learn things with no bored way.

if a teacher is from another Nationality or ethnic group, the teachers face difficulties in using the language efficiently, accurately during the process of guiding kids. if the teacher fails to understand what learner is trying to say, in one word if the learner face difficulties communicating accurately with the teacher, the guide, the kids won't pick right things.

Language abilities of the teacher, the mediator is an advantage not only for Student but also for the teacher during their Teaching Learning Process'

She Speaks Sinhalese Language well

I think, she manages her 'spoken language abilities brilliantly , i can say she managed to use her skills more than 80% yet i have a feeling that she has more things inside to share with the kids

What is important for a teacher is 'liveliness'

She has a smiling face which is an added advantage for any teacher because the students benefits from such things

i think a teacher should wear the colours what kids normally likes  i do not think that such things are written in books (?)

Miss Riyoko wears in a so pleasant way

Perhaps , some teachers do not think that much about such things. The Kids do not like ' the teachers with bored attitudes' , the teachers with lazy attitudes'

Often, colorfulness of class room premises is not recognized as a plus point in the processes guiding kids, directing kids by some of the teachers. They think of using all the materials they can think of but do not think of using such methods.

'Teacher should be a person that can 'sacrifice' her desires , for instance 'wearing only the colours she likes , practically difficult.

what teachers uses as tools also very important, i mean not the teaching aids that describe in the modules.

I guess teacher can aid children in their learning processes by using 'strategically designed tools' that can be used for her own purposes but indirectly to guide the kids in 'teaching' or guiding processes'.

The Pens and pencils she uses , The Sari Brochers she uses. Through such things, the kids identify different colours , different sizes, different things for example without really investing any hardships or efforts

Sometimes the handbags she uses  can be a something that student learn something from. sometimes because of such things the student may trouble you yet those are indirect ways of guiding kids though we do not think too much about such things.

teacher is a trouble manager

The Kids expect See Through method from their teachers

she is a pleasant teacher , she maintains her smile and pleasantness all day long, i can see that it is a plus point for any teacher, and such would bring good results

As a whole it is a successful effort miss Riyoko

i wish you all the success and strength for you to continue your service and carrier as a teacher!
