The ambalama of Misty Kadugannawa

The travelers,

The Pilgrims,

Stops here for a while

To rest,

To chat,

To view,

And again, they begin the journeys

Yet,

The Ambalama Stays still.

Stayed still, for centuries,

Keeping secrets,

Holding breaths,

Reading faces,

Witnessing histories,

The Travelers,

Travel further,

And further,

Towards future,

Back and forth,

Towards Sacred Dalada Maligawa,

Carrying things from past,

Carrying fate of ignorance,

Misfortune,

The Ambalama watches all,

Says nothing, asks nothing,

Stays mute.

The Travelers, the pilgrims proceed , 

travels along sansara.

The pilgrims,

The Travelers,

Returning home, from journeys,

With sacred thoughts,

Again stops here,

To rest,

To chat.

The Travelers travel,

Endlessly.

Some, without stopping here,

Travels, travels and travels,

The ambalama still, ‘lasts’

The travelers travel ……………………
