Open Letter to Minister Patric Pillai of Seychelles Islands

Honestly speaking i do not feel like addressing you as 'Dear Minister', Honorable Minister or Minister
so let address you this way.

Minister of Seychelles,

This is an open letter to you from a blogger from the Island; Sri Lanka

We like to tell you minister that we highly respect each and every foreign employer of any country in this huge world, that lends hands for our gentlemen and ladies to earn what ever currencies, in dollars , yens, pounds or in Euro or in ruffia within your premises in a legal way. The money the our people, your employees send us, we highly value and  consider them as something very important and a huge contribution to the country's economy.

And i hope that you have not mistaken that ours is not an Island that produce only housemaids or housekeepers , refer international labour statistics if you need more details.

i beg your pardon if any other kind hearted employers in the Seychelles Island get hurt because of this my letter. I am addressing only the minister that have a name called 'Patric Pillai', related to the matter i discuss through this page. The Ministers like you bring dishonor to your Island needless to say.

I do not know how you really treat or look after your own labour force that is none of our business but a business of the relevant department of your country.

Yet,

Minister, we like to say 'I highly VALUE EVERY LABOUR of this workful world WHO STRUGGLE AND SPEND THEIR SWEATS for the sake of your and our development.

you should refresh your mind on the days such as 'International Labour Day', i do not know how you all celebrate these days or you don't unless you are invited to address any gathering on 'how important is our labourer', labour force'

Perhaps this would be an eye awaken letter for the chiefs of foreign employment agencies across globe that there job after even after recruiting a worker, there job is not done or completed. They are responsible until the worker comes back or return to their homelands.

And the Labour departments of the respective countries have a job to play that is about the welfare of the foreign workers who work under their wings.

i do not know whether you still hold any ministerships in the Island but it is not matter for us at all. What ever position you hold in the Island, what Power you may have in your palms, we care not that of course valid only within the Island you are holding the ministership.

So let me come to the point straight way without trying to wander too much around the Island and across global labour laws.

I am sure you can remember Mr. Gihan Fernando of Sri Lanka , visited your prestigious government quraters or your palace as a House Keeper with mountain high hopes.

What you have promised to pay him was not 370 dollars but 500

I do not know whether you have passed any matriculation exams in the Island or conducted by any other Schools or Universities because it seemed that you do not understand the difference between 370 dollars and 500. tell me minister what is the highest amount?

The Reason why i ask this question is you have not paid him the Promised amount that is 500 dollars.

Can you explain why?

Were you, back then, saving money for your presidential candidate campaigns?

And Minister, tell us whether you chosen any symbols for the campaign or not. If so was it a goat or a chicken, sorry to ask you that way.

Perhaps you have forgotten or not have learned a single word about the country we live and here in this country we have enough of animal husbandry , luckily, so we have no reason to send our boys to clean and look after your goat farm , chicken farms unless you pay them more than what we pay them

And it is so please to hear that you respect 'animal rights' after hearing what mister Gihan had to say about how you treat them specially when they are ill.

Have you ever thought that humans also are valued creatures and we all depend on each other.

And minister tell us of you like how, you now take care of your goats and chickens and the kitchens

By the way, have you got any kittens in the palace? take care of them

I suggest that before you think of contesting for any high seats first and foremost learn some International Labour Laws.

by the way do not forget to build some lavatory facilities for your workers , thank goodness you have forests nearby.

And are you willing to pay  him COMPENSATION, let us know?

Thank you for reading

Not yours but the labouers faithfully

Sandika; a footpath traveler
