For Friends of Dear COLOMBO ………

Colombo is not a single city. The neighboring cities are very close to colombo by heart. Colombo is not a lonely city. He has friends all over this world.  But he has his own way of choosing his friends.  He is a good friend of Africa than a friend of India.  He is not bad friend to America and Obama is not America he knows that.  Sarkozy is a friend of Obama (?)But Colombo is not an enemy of Sarkosy.  Now that Sarkozy is out of scene. Colombo for sure will welcome Holande with smile. 

Rahul is lovely Vimukthi is handsome is that really matters I doubt.  Rahul is the child of Sonia and Rajiv Gandhi and Vimukthi is not a child but he is a child to his mother Ms CBK. Colombo shows no difference …. 

Obama kisses Sakeera –  a news

 Obama can kiss anyone he likes; the news lovers loved the news. So the gossip lovers want to know whether he has kissed any other Sakeera’s ….. Why? That is personal no! apolitical if it matters to the internal development activity plans of Colombo then Colombo may interfere I believe. Or if Obama is planning to harm the political fronts of his country then he may questioned otherwise I m sure that Obama should have the SOLE RIGHT TO HIS PERSONAL LIFE. 

Mr Obama it is happy to see that you donate some money for the needy ones.

Colombo trusts his party mates and his other city mates he is sure that they will help him continuously for his plans of developing the city. 

I like the new market place and its plan so now people have the freedom to move from here to there buy the things they want freely. I am so happy because the sellers too have a place to sell their stuff I mean a proper place. 

I don’t mind the new bus stop but need a little bit better plan especially during busy periods of the year. I really don’t like the way that the announcers communicate with very very ordinary people especially I think they should use very very informal language to communicate with people …..

If they have to inform someone of a missing person they really can not use very, very grammatical professional ‘viyath sinhala’ that is a headache …… who has time to understand such language ?  Colombo I think you need to inform them to whom you should inform ? Mr Gemunu …. Aney sarala sinhalen kianna kothanadida nethi una manussayawa muna gehenna puluwan kiala’

Who has time to go and meet Professor G.B. Dissanayake to ask the meaning of the words?

‘Colombo’ is news because Colombo is the most attractive cities in the region.  Not like New Delhi, Male, and Washington or not like London.  Colombo is Colombo ……

Colombo harbor provides thousands and thousands of jobs and that is a very vital place I don’t say the city has become that vital only after 1978 I think it is even before. That is one of the very busiest harbors of the region am I right?  

Sometimes Colombo has to welcome everything because of this ‘open economy’ that is not too bad still it is good to maintain some rules and regulations for that.

NO! This is not a reminder to you dear friends of Colombo but a little thanking note for many things. 

India is not belong to Gandhi’s it also for Kapur, Mehera, Iyer, Hassan/s, and that is the heart beat of Mangeshkar’s too. So Colombo Knows why Jayalalitha is screaming at Colombo sometimes.  Are those Colonial – cousins a true friend of dear Colombo? Yes I am sure because music makes no enemies.  Yes! I know that if we really want we can ask B & S they might know the answer. No problem.

Why not I am sure you are.  I am sure that dear Colombo will consider you as a friend. (?)

The eyes and the ears of dear Colombo are so used to the sounds and rhythms of legendary Mr. Chitrasena.  Who doubts this ask the Chitrasena Family.

The David’s, and Browns of all part of this world are friends of dear Colombo right? 

Why scared of Colombo no Mr. Prabhakaran is gone for ever.  No he is no more so do not donate any money for the sake of his name lovely Toronto and lovely ‘Norway’ …. Yes please pardon me I know that No way you give any money for such things. Who miss educated me giving me false information ha ….. No Colombo need no money from you Colombo is self sufficient and he expects support only from trust worthy friends.

I  and  GO ‘s are not always friends of dear Colombo I sometimes criticize and argue because this Colombo sometimes try to see the underside of my work. I will not allow him to do so. 

Colombo knows the histories of all the movements in SL.  Colombo is very political but apolitical in most of the things. He sometimes screams at some (?) ‘You owe me a tree Mr & Ms Politicians’  

Colombo cries when ever he listens to Mr. T. M. Jayaratne’s tearful voice.  So this Colombo is different. ‘Music’ is Mr Jayaratne’s party he is a good friend of Colombo I am sure.  Mr Jayaratne owes nothing to Mr. Colombo but has given a lot I believe. Good taste of good music.

Chilly Chinese loves Colombo. Colombo thinks that we should learn Mandarin. That’s ok English + Mandarin No I will learn them later. No way I can learn any other languages appe English gives me enough of headaches.

Male comes to Colombo and Colombo goes to Male. But I don’t know whether Maldive -fish comes here or Sri Lankan Fish goes there.  

The Ausies said ….. Back in 1994 (?) ‘ If you are planning to play finals there in Colombo we can’t come Colombo is not a safe city’ remember ? But Waseem Akram (?) loves Colombo agreed to play here in Colombo.  ‘That is the beauty of cricket’ and it is not just a game.  They are friends indeed and in need.  Let me not forget the entire team. That is the spirit of team work. We like to salute you for that.  So we won they lost the game but they already won the hearts of all our people. They were not losers. It is so memorable the photograph with Ms. Benazir Bhuto (pardon me if I have written the name wrong way) 

Colombo is so proud of Bandaranayake Memorial hall, town hall, Sudharshi hall, and Elphinsten Hall I believe.  Koirala families love Colombo.  I don’t know about all the Koirala’s but I know that Maneeha Koirala respects Colombo. Don’t forget that Maneesha is from Nepal. 

Why IIFA decided to come to Colombo they should have gone to Italy no.  What do you think is that because Colombo is near and dear to them?  Colombo has no hidden agendas .

Colombo should have his own ‘development activity plans he has to think of many things, the geological map of the city, available space, finally Colombo can’t forget the commercial value of the city. Only Colombo knows how these things can be applicable to Colombo. Colombo can’t plan the thing the way the Galle wants, Kitulgala wants, India or the newly elected president of France wants. Colombo accepts ideas I am sure. 

It is not easy to have a very accurate plan for the development of the city. Friends know that Colombo is not a small city. it is not easy to think of each and every corner of the city so that is why the friends are there I believe. They may come up with new ideas, innovative plans, etc. 

i am so happy to see that your city mates are very closely observing you. that is so good you know Colombo then only a city can develop further. different ideas, different views, different looks of the ideas they hold always give fruitful results. 

 there are some abandoned buildings in the city i do not know whether you have noticed them.... in Rajagiriya ' who owns 'the electro plastics' building what a waste Colombo. i can't remember now the other building the 'sathosa' building is it now using ? NO! we are not expecting them to open 24 hrs no use. i know.

 

Political & party colours may change from time to time.  I am sure the walls of Colombo prefer an apolitical look.   Smiling faces bring smiles to all of us but who likes to see them smiling on the walls ….. When is the next election Colombo?
